The Testosterone Trials were a set of seven randomized placebo-controlled trials that evaluated the efficacy of testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) in 788 men . It included the Physical Function Trial, Sexual Function Trial, Cognitive Function Trial, Anemia Trial, Bone Density Trial, and Cardiovascular Trial.

@PeterBond examines the outcomes of these trials and discusses what TRT does and does not do.

I lost my sense of smell from Covid. It came back a little. I seem to notice an improvement after taking 600 MG of Test a week.

sooo... I did a couple google searches, and they say testosterone does affect the olfactory senses.

Did your sense of smell come back accurately or did you smell things that weren't really norman?

At first, only certain smells came back, and I think they were accurate, but dramatically reduced. I had no loss of taste that I was aware of. This was all prior to the 600 MG test. And I had Covid in Oct last year. I was a little tired from Covid, but not real bad, the main annoying symptom was the loss of smell.

Then in the last week or two, I've noticed I've been smelling more things. Im very perceptive, and I thought.. hmm the only thing that has changed has been taking the large dosage of Testosterone. All I've dug up so far is.. yess the olfactory organ is influenced by Testosterone.

Maybe testosterone makes the muscles in the nose grow :)

One can only hope if that helps!

I had Covid last year and just had nothing more than a bad cold but didn't lose my sense of taste or smell for very long thankfully.

I wish there was more conclusive results for the cardiovascular trials. The potential heart problems are worrying. My gut feeling is that in the short term we'll be fine running TRT that puts us at about 1000 ng/dL, but I worry about the cumulative effect over the next 50 years or so.

A notable item to consider from my perspective is quality of life vs. length of life as well.

Can I be on TRT and have an amazing QOL living to 85 before my heart clocks out vs. having an average and degrading over time QOL but live to 95...

Im sure everyone will have different answers.
