Nick Walker at New York Pro 2024

Regarding vacuum, does anyone know why lundsford hits vacuum all the time instead of abs? I agree with Milos, being able to hit a vacuum is nice indeed but when judges command abs and thighs why the heck he doesn't pose his abs?
I hate this debate. And Milos is getting annoying as all fucking hell. As are all these old heads trying to stay relevant.

Posing is about displaying the MOST advantageous view of your individual physique. Guys don’t hit a crunched ab and thigh or front double because it doesn’t look as good as vacuum for a lot of guys.

Yeah but doesn't he have the personal routine to chose the way he wants to present himself? I didn't know you're allowed to not flex abs at all, i thought it was on the mandatory poses. Despite if you're good at this or not. Maybe he's uncorfortable with showing his abs (?)

its not so complicated.

He looks better with the vacuum.
as @buzzingonaas said, the judges themselves say its acceptable, and it suited dereks physique very well.

He doesnt have the deep cut abs and serratus like nick or hadi, but he DOES have an exceptionally small waste to shoulder width ratio, so the vacuum shows off his strong points exceptionally well.

Like @Mac11wildcat said, milos is damn near washed up and out of touch, his yapping about it is no better than Arnold's yapping on the contrary

Thanks for saying this. Milos is still one of my all time favorite bodybuilders but these last few months, the YT interviews and podcasts, he's getting kinda insufferable.

Many of them in similar boats. Bodybuilding didn't make them rich, so resorting to social media?? Or is it for respect/legacy?

I'm still gonna watch all their videos because I love this shit, even if it rubs me the wrong way from time to time.

I think it’s an inability to stay relevant otherwise and no life beyond or after the stage.

It’s funny seeing all the shit Milos, Chris, Dennis, Shawn, etc spew while someone like Jay continues to be the best ambassador this sports ever had.

Aight a few hours out from prejudging and with all the recent updates, I’ve got:
1. Nick
2. Martin
3. Tonio
4. Stu
5. Quint
6. Angel

Quint feels like the biggest wildcard for me, he could be as low as 5th and as high as 2nd. Feels as though it depends on if his roundness and shape will overcome stu’s hardness

Don’t forget Lee Priest, I love his no bs, sugar coating comments lol.

I’m hoping tonio can come out 2nd but looks like he just lacks the size to beat martin. His front lat and back poses are fantastic, and his shape is by far the best on that stage

Top 4 are looking insane
But nick is taking this one home
Expected more from angel (from Spain)
angel looks great, it’s hard to stand next to guys with those proportions. Reminds me a little of shaun clarida at arnold classic 23. Reinforcing the idea that creating 212 was a good idea

In this lineup, angel is just the Nick Walker you have at home. He’s even more compact than Nick with no better a waist and it just doesn’t translate in an Open stage where guys can flat outsize him unlike in 212.
