Personally, I think dead Fed Chairmen would be more appropriate. After all, civil rights leaders had absolutely nothing to do with the mess that is our monetary system today.. : )

Treasury Removes Jackson From $20 Bill, Will Replace Him With Harriet Tubman

Tyler Durden on 04/20/2016

Presenting an artist's impression of what your new $20 bill will soon look like.

It's official.

Moments ago Politico reported that the U.S. Treasury will announce that it plans to replace former President Andrew Jackson on the $20 bill with Harriet Tubman, the sources said. There will also be changes to the $5 bill to depict civil rights era leaders.

This is a very touchy issue because anyone who happens to think that Jackson should stay on the bill will be called sexist and racist.

Based on their current definitions, I wouldn't be too put off if they did. But considering Jackson was strongly against fiat money, vetoed the first central bank bill, putting him on today's $20 bill is an insult.

No Frank Zane.It's about aesthetics.
Frank Zane for the $20, Ronnie for the $50 ;)

Or is it the other way around

So tempted to write to the Treasury about this idea and wonder how well received it will be? Maybe worth a few chuckles though!

I think it would be cool if we could get the Iwo Jima flag raise on a coin to show respect for the troops.
Be awesome on a dollar coin even if a limited edition run.

Another idea is having the Twin Towers on a coin to honor those who died on that infamous day 9/11/2001. Perhaps the coin be made out of any remaining steel from the towers.

"What'chu talk'in bout Willis?"

I have no issue with Harriet Tubman or Jackson, they are part of U.S. history. What's disappointing is the expression on her face. She looks like a young Gary Coleman from Different Strokes. The artist couldn't or wasn't allowed to show a different expression?

Perhaps there are other pictures of Harriet Tubman existant that could be a better choice.

The US Mint is not one to miss a marketing opportunity.
