Accutane permanent cure?

Yes, It's somewhat inaccurately called the "purge".

TLDR the cells lining the inside of your pores are constantly turning over. This process tends to malfunction in people with acne, and isotretinoin "resets" the cell's "programming" on a genetic level so it works correctly and you aren't so acne prone in the future. During the transition, the turnover completely stops, but sebum (oil) production continues, causing a backup within the pores that results in a flare up of bacterial growth.

It's temporary, brief, and only occurs once in each area it affects. Once it happens and clears up, expect to see it occur somewhere else next.

It's a good sign the accutane is working. I had it occur in place I never got acne before, like my stomach.
Right, that makes sense. Thanks for the explanation, appreciate it!

Also, I'll add - Accutane @ 10mg/day makes me super lethargic it's not even funny. The fatigue is stronger than high dose HGH and Gear. I'm pretty close to calling it quits with this because i just cant function ahaha

That sucks but not the end of the world. Especially if your acne isn't bad off-cycle or with just lowering your gear doses.

Can take a while to resolve with good skin hygiene practices which also sucks. Everyone wants instant gratification but not if you can't train/work/function.

*I have the same advice for hGH. I like it but it's not for everyone. If it causes excess daytime fatigue or sleeplessness at night (regardless of dose timing), not worth it. Imo.

I'd say my issue isnt mainly the acne part as I rarely get them nowadays but its more so that my pimples turn into blemishes when they die down. My back and shoulders just have black/purple small dots all over because of hyperpigmentation from breaking out.

My options were to try accutane (though I was against it) or get my skin lasered which is costly where I'm from.

How long have you been on?

I've seen many mentions of fatigue due to accutane in clinical trials, enough so that people discontinue treatment. I didn't experience it personally with a full course working up to 120 mg/d.

But excess daytime fatigue definitely sucks. Maybe that's why some accutane advocates also promote modafinil.

It's a microdose. Literally 1/10th of the average dose.

Some folks are hypersensitive to certain drugs so I guess this is one of those cases.
Out of curiosity, what other avenues could he take? Accutane is the only thing besides diet and pinning frequency that keeps my skin completely clear when dropping to a cruise dose, even 20mg M/W/F is enough. Every antibiotic or topical cream has only caused more harm than good in my experience.

Oral Dapsone has been used as an alternative when isotretinoin isn't tolerated or doesn't work.

Not a first choice though. For the overwhelming majority, isotretinoin is much better.
