Accutane permanent cure?

Hi everyone,

Just checking back in. So I did my maths again and realized I was a little off after my last post — currently just shy of 10000mg total dosage after counting through what was left in my Indian Pharma stash.

I am now running only 20mg everyday and will drop to 10mg everyday until the capsules are done, then begin with the 5mg a day for as long as I feel necessary, keeping the 40mg’s on standby just in case.

For those who are new and missed it, although I highly suggest reading through the thread, the TLDR is I took the high dose approach for right around 3 months to hit a little over 9000mg and dropped down due to starting a cycle.

Here are the bonuses:

— no dry skin anywhere — lips, face, elbows, ankles, hands has almost entirely dissipated. Lips still need lip balm, but less frequent.
— going into wk 6 of Test/Mast/NPP at 675/400/150 I would expect at least a few pimples… absolutely nothing at all is showing up (knock on wood)

Have some goodies coming in from India to further benefit the skin:
- Azelaic Acid 20% and Hydroquinone 4% (for issues with hyperpigmentation from old acne)
— Tretinoin .025% (for a myriad of reasons)

I will continue to report back and also inform members about the efficacy of the above topicals when I feel I have used them long enough)

Best wishes to you fellas just starting up! You got this!

I had to drop down from 160mg/day to 120mg due to joint pain in knees, elbows, and shoulders. Hoping to bump up to 140mg once the pain settles and finish out my high-dose run there.

Anyone see joint pain improvement from a similar decrease?
To be fair, 160mg is pretty brutal... What is your weight?

I started tretinoin along side dapsone gel - and doxepine- and had decent results before I started the accutane run. Domestic cost for the daspone is stupid, and part of what started me looking harder at accutane. Indian pharma has it (usually at 5% instead of 7.5%) for much less though. It's essentially an antibacterial so may or may not be useful depending on your situation.
