Anavar (weight) gains

Hi! I'm new to the forum and it's my first time posting.

Here's stats for reference:
5'4, 161lbs, female, 21 years old

I've been on anavar for about 3 weeks now. I started with 10mg split into two doses a day and reduced it to 2.5mg doses 2x a day. I'm 4 weeks out from a powerlifting meet and kind of panicking because I'm up 5lbs.

I have been slowly cutting since February from 173 down to my lowest weight of 156 at the beginning of my cycle. I'm now 161 and oh boy am I worried I won't make weight despite reducing my calories a week into cycle. I feel like I'll only be able to lose like 3 lbs in the next few weeks and a 9 lb water cut to 148 would be rough. I'm considering competing at 165 but I really have been working towards this goal for the better half of a year now and I want to put up a huge coefficient.

My question is, by anyone's experience, would I lose the weight if I stopped the cycle now? I'm just afraid that I wouldn't be as strong if I stopped 4 weeks out but I'm not even sure I feel that much stronger. I feel fuller and I get great pumps thought so that's been awesome, but I've been hitting the same numbers as before, just a little smoother and easier.

Can you provide more information regarding your diet 3 weeks ago (including macros) compared to the changes you've made recently? Also, please include your current BF%.

Cutting 13lbs in 4wka shouldn't be tough at all. I was able to go from 213 and weighed in at 196.8 before my meet in a little over a week. I did have the luxury of a 24hr weigh in though. In 3 wks you should be able to cut 3-5lbs pretty easily then the week before cut carbs to drop the water weight.

Welcome @Asshy
How is your diet and are you incorporating cardio?

And fyi, not sure why you went the var route for your goal but I'm guessing you had your reasoning. I personally would have gone anadrol or superdrol for the strength. Also, you should have been just below your goal weight to start as aas aren't designed as a weight loss pill...and you will add some weight

I guess at this point, adjust your diet and cardio.

You don't go into a PL peaking cycle just below goal weight. You'll sacrifice a lot of performance bc of it. You train above the goal weight/weight class limit and then cut the final few weeks

Yep! I started at 1950cal 165p/60f/189c and have slowly dropped it to 1800cal 160p/50f/140c and literally I'm still 160. I've been pretty on point with my macros besides a few times I couldn't help (like I had to attend a wedding last weekend). still sitting in the 160s

I had done a lot of reading and decided this would be the best for me and my goals, although I could find nothing about increased weight in females besides a couple pounds, it seemed more common in men. I figured that I could diet off a little and be fine but here I am still struggling. I was at my goal of 156 so I would only have 7.5lbs of water to cut. I think I might just come off altogether, I've been having palpitations and been really dizzy the last couple days. don't know what it is, maybe my stuff is bunk, maybe it's just low dose dbol? I don't know for sure, this is my first experience with an aas.

I have cut 8lbs before from 173 to 165 and it was really rough, and now since I'm a lower body weight I think it would be even harder on my body and thus my lifts :( I just wanna total 950 at 148

Your caloric deficit is only 150 cals, I would double that. However, before doing so i would be absolutely certain your Anavar is legit. It seems to me that it may be Dbol based on your information and the fact that it aromatizes. And being that youre only 4 wks out, you have a tough choice to make.

yeah but my maintenence is 2300, I lost weight initially on 2200cal, then reduced to 1950, then to 1800. I think I'll just come off. Sad because I've had the best pumps of my life :( oh well. at least I'll feel normal again (hopefully) and maybeeeee the weight will fall off (hopefully)

Ok but if she was worried about adding weight on the scale and looking for weight loss then aas weren't the answer.

Have you tested your var? Have you tried backing down the dose some more? And I would definitely adjust your diet. Cardio?

I don't think she was looking for AAS for weight loss. I think she's looking for it for strength to compete in powerlifting. From her response it seems like all the extra bloating/water wasn't expected and she's scared it might throw off her cut to make weight prior to competing.
