Antibiotics on hand

For any of you who have went to the doc for such a situation, do you recall what they prescribed you? I just envision myself telling my doc my “B12 injection” went wrong, him looking at me like As if I thought he was an idiot, and something going on my permanent medical record.

@TNotch347 did you use both of them in the past to get rid an an infection?

All in all I don’t think it hurts to be prepared...

Docs don’t give a fuck what you injected they just want to treat you. You may get a scolding about the dangers of AAS and this infection is a perfect example.

I’ve been hospitalized twice for what was initially thought to be an infection/reaction to AAS. I had no second thoughts about ripping off the sources label and saying this is what I injected if it came to that.

After a quad injection going wrong I had an infection and I took Palumbo's advice and I took Augmenting 875+125 on my own.
After a week it was as good as new.

Penicillin, doxycycline, amoxicillin, Azithromycin, Erythromycin, Levofloxacin, and a few others on hand like topical antibiotics/anti fungals such as gelmicin. All depends on what I’m fighting. Sulfonamides and Aminoglycosides I don’t usually have.

Penicillin/amoxicillin, doxy, and Zpack should cover most any infection you or family and friends could get.

So for an infected intramuscular injection is it situation specific or is there a few in particular that would work? I assume not topical but I have no idea.

Never been in that situation so I was hesitant but that makes me feel better. Any negative feedback from the doc won’t matter if you are dead so that makes sense at giving them whatever they need to treat you. Saying it out loud makes my other statement about not being 100% truthful with the doc pretty damn stupid.

@slyfox115 ive used for a few different types of infections. Typically penicillin being my goto. Works for me. Doesn’t mean it will for you or anyone else. But I definitely don’t see it being a bad thing having that shit on hand, get an infection give it a day or two on your antibiotics if it worsens or gets better then you have your answer, I’m no doctor tho so take it with a grain of salt

Personal experience is all I’m looking for. I’m sure it’s different for others in their own situations but this helps.

Sorry, I misunderstood the original post. If you have an infection from an IM injection go straight to a doctor, don’t fuck with it. to much to type on the phone but the jist of it is most infections come from bacteria on the skin getting into the injection, not from bad gear.

This means that it’s most likely staph, MRSA (methicillin resistant staph) or even worse cellulitis (not the nasty leg fat). These things are not commonly treated with oral antibiotics, they need IV administered antibiotics like vancomycin, zyvox, cubicin, etc.

especially if the infection moves from the muscle tissue to the blood stream you can go from perfectly fine to with a red spot and fever to dead in 24-48 hours. If you’re lucky it’ll stay in the muscle and in 24-36hours your entire limb you injected will be red and swollen and you’ll just have to get part of that appendage and surrounding muscle cut out to stop the infection, spend a few days in the hospital hooked up to IVs then start months long rehab from whatever area they had to cut out.

Point is don’t listen to anyone about IM infections, those infections have plenty of blood flow and nutrients going to them and can literally spread fast enough to fuck you up in a matter of hours. If you really want to be a dumb fuck, take 1g of penicillin and 1g of Zpack and if it doesn’t stop spreading and/or get better then go to the doctor. If it does get better take 1g every 12 hours for the first two days then 500mg twice daily for 14 days.

Augmenting what?

About the 875+125 part, it has two (or even more) ingredients or however it's called. The 875mg part is to fight the infection and the 125mg part is to stop the infection from being resistant to the medicine. I totally butchered up the explanation, Palumbo does a better job explaining it.

And going to the doctor is always the safest bet, I just pussied out, I didn't want to tango with the doctors, so I crossed my fingers and I took my shot

I say have them on hand just Incase you do feel an infection coming on. First, take the antibiotic and immediately go see a doctor. That’s addressing the issue from two angles IMO. What if the first doctor doesn’t even prescribe an antibiotic, or you can’t get in immediately because it’s not yet formed into an abscess. Just my two cents. Don’t just rely on saving yourself but I wouldn’t say it’s a bad idea either.

Totally agree. I had a bout of cellulitis twice now and it’s nothing to fuck with. You need medical intervention to get you on 3-5 days of IV to start.

Same here. I was hospitalized for a week. IVs and blood tests around the clock.

Yeah it’s crazy how quickly it can spread. Fever, chills, sweating, extreme throbbing pain....not going there again! Needless to say I have researched the topic extensively- almost OCD-like if you will. Sterility and injection technique are important. Shallow injections/subq often lead to cellulitis.

I know every single time you pin, no matter how sterile your injection practice is, there is a risk of infection. If something happened and my condition escalated quickly I would go to the doc but I also want to have some antibiotics on hand. What sort of antibiotics do you guys have on hand? I am ordering some ancillaries and they do offer antibiotics so I wanted to order some of those to have on hand as well.

I guess another response is "You are a dumbass for even considering not going to the doc immediately if you think you have an infection...." so feel free to go with that too. :)
DO NOT just randomly buy antibiotics. I’ve been on about everything there is.

Wanna try killing staph? TAKE LEVOFLOXACIN IT SHOULD WORK RIGHT? ITS SO STRONG IT RUPTURES TENDONS AFTER TWO MONTHS OF STOPPING THE DRUG!

Nope too bad it’s only for pneumonia and pseudomonas etc.

Ok fine go buy bactrim! Oh wait it can cause psychosis

Found one that suits ur needs!? Great take it for 10 days til the spot goes away, just kidding the infection is likely now resistant to meds, still there despite it looking like it isn’t. Where do u go from there?

Ok so u found the dose and protocol u need to use to use it safely. Go ahead, destroy ur gut bacteria and suffer gastrointestinal issues and susceptibility to other diseases permanently.

Do not shotgun ur body with antibiotics. Very very serious fuckin drugs to fuck around with
