Anyone Ever Train A 13 Year Old.

don't just look at this opportunity as what is good for the kid , but also what is good for you, I have trained kids in weight lifting for about 10 years now for the special olympics and it is one of the most rewarding things I have ever done ,

A woman at the gym wants me to train her 13 year old son. More of a big brother type thing. Her husband was killed in an accident and she wants to keep him motivated. I just don't want to give the kid any more problems from working out wrong. I think he is a little young for gear so I will keep him natty for at least another year(<--that's a joke). I know the kid needs time with someone who shows interest in him more then anything, but if he is going to put the time in it might as well be worth while. Is there dangers that should be avoided? I don't want him to deform his growing body in any way.

Put him on a linear progression program. I suggest greyskull lp or dinosaur training advancing to 5/3/1. This should last him through the end of high school. Get him strong as fuck in the basic lifts and then go from there.

Don't put him on a 6 day a week bro split. Worat thing you could do.

I agree. 3 days per week at that age is plenty, imo. Like Monday, Wednesday, Friday thing. Don't want to burn the kid out.
