I hear what you're saying. It's just not proof. You think if you flipped a coin a billion times you could get heads 10 times in a row? 100 times? Maybe. You think it would ever land on its edge? Never. Humans are like landing a coin on its edge.

I'm not saying life cant exist out there. But just because space is seemingly infinite isn't proof enough for me. What'd would you expect, for space to just end? For it to just stop at a certain point?

Its gonna go as far as we can observe, but the key is it takes an observer.

The thing with a coin is no matter what side it lands on, we know one side is heads and one side is tails.

With trillions of planets, there’s no telling what’s on them. It’s not a simple head and tail 50/50. There’s so many of them that life must exist

I should have specified, sentient alien life. I'm sure there's microorganisms, single celled life, and simple life forms equivalent of insects, fish, crustaceans, lizards, etc. I'm sure there's even the equivalent of space cows and pigs out there.

But do you think there is intelligent life out there, intelligent enough to challenge our own, perhaps surpass ours?

When you consider how many earth like planets are out there with a similar distance to their sun, odds overwhelming favor yes. Likely numerous populations that are below our intelligence level, above and some that could make contact with us but see no point because we haven’t even come close to their level of intelligence and couldn’t communicate with them anyway.

Who’s to say that other intelligent life forms need what we need? What if another life form doesn’t need water. Yes this would go against everything biology has told us but what if there’s things that exist that we couldn’t even begin to understand? I know, it’s abstract thinking but it maybe possible.

But back to semi realistic thinking: what if intelligent life forms can thrive in climates of 160F? Or -40F? Or what if they thrive in a planet made up methane gas?

Just because human beings need temperatures between -5F through 120F to live and with fresh water and the right amount of oxygen doesn’t necessarily mean other forms of life need the same. Especially when we’re talking about “trillions” of planets.

There just has to be things that exist we couldn’t even begin to comprehend nor even have words for

Those are some excellent points. I am thinking of possibilities based on our own laws of math and science, but who knows? Like you said perhaps those laws and theories don’t apply elsewhere in terms of supporting life. Shit look at all the Protista that live in extreme environments on earth alone.

Actually Fight vs Flight is exactly that. A split second decision based on fast calculation of probability.

1 might have you initially startled, but 2 you 180 and sprint away. You instantly in your head pitted yourself against that creature and determined the outcome before it occured.

There are of course legitimate reasons to kill animals. Invasive species, rabid or diseased, population control, etc.

Trophy hunting sucks. But it causes the land owners to take better care of the animals and the land cause bigger animals generate more money. I made lots of money as a guide but I hated it. I prefer to take younger kids out nowadays and teach them right. Its more fulfilling to me. Ole Salty getting soft in his old age. Lol.

I've even heard that certain herbivores like Rhinos and Elephants it actually can help with new young and genetic diversity by specifically targeting the top male who is out of his sexual prime and breeding less frequently but still maintains control over his heard and won't allow other males to breed.

Happens with all species. Ive worked on a ranch that fed protein year around. Had to kill 70 does or female mule deer per year to keep the herd right. Bucks that were past their prime in horn development too. Called culling. Dirty job but someone has to do it. Fed a shitload of people that were struggling to feed their families. Africa is not sport hunting. Africa is game management at its finest. These high fence canned hunts are where its gone wrong.
