Bench Press

Lol, I know I know. Redemption today. Better media tonight, minus the training wheels. Injuries suck brother. That's why I was in the SM. All mental though.

Your name says it all brother "geterdun"! Sometimes having to work harder makes it all the sweeter when you smash your goals. I have 4 hurniated discs in my back, damn near all my lowers l2,4,5,and 6 are crumbling. I feel your pain... I'm so glad I never went the fusion route. Last blow out I really contiplated it, it took me 3 months to be able to walk for more than 20 feet without having to kneel down to release the pressure off the syatic. I lost feeling in the back of my right leg from lower back to toes, couldn't feel my dick or ass. Scary shit! That's when I started hitting the gym. Lost weight and tightened the core now I rarely have a blow out and if I do it's weight lifting induced... Just hit a PR deadlifts 545 for 3 with a numb leg. I did get the feeling back in my ass and dick but still numb from hamstring to toes on right leg.

However your post says you did it as a "PR?" Ok, I'm a bit confused, but on the other hand I'm confused most of the time.o_O

So did you get 545 3x as a PR, or are you standing by what your last post says ? It reads "not that I can but there are plenty of guys that can." Not being a dick, just a great PR if you did it.

545 3x is my deadlift PR. We were talking about my workout partners incline and flat numbers.

I wouldn't post what I haven't done. I don't know any of you personally, what would be the point? I would know I was lying and would do me no good!

Ahhh, ok - I get half the shit posted being on my phone. DTE Energy needs to get done fixing this damn power pole some drunk fuck took out Saturday night. They almost dropped the knew post on my garage. I thought they were done, but must have been a temporary fix.
I've been without power and Internet for most of the weekend. Hoping to return home today with at least power seeing how it's supposed to be a frigid 97 today!o_O

After the change of the seasons I'll get some pics up! Change of the season is brutal on my back for whatever reason. Always seem to hurt myself when they change from hot/cold or cold/hot...

I wish... Were back in the low 60's where I'm at.

"SQUATTIN"

Way down this road, in a gym far away, A young man was once heard to say, "I've repped high and I've repped low, No matter what I do, my legs won't grow" He tried leg extensions, leg curls, and leg presses too Trying to cheat, these sissy workouts he'd do. From the corner of the gym where the BIG men train, Through a cloud of chalk and the midst of pain Where the big iron rides high and threatens lives, Where the noise is made with big forty-fives, A deep voice bellowed as he wrapped his knees, A very big man with legs like trees. Laughing as he snatched another plate from the stack Chalking his hands and monstrous back, said, "Boy, stop lying and don't say you've forgotten, The trouble with you is you ain't been SQUATTIN'." — DALE CLARK, 1983

I dont use a spotter until I pass 4 plates. Havent had an issue yet lol

Deadly numbers brother

Flat bench is different than incline so I think there would be nothing in similarities for lift strength. Upper chest is bigger but flat bench incorporates more muscles so I think flat will always be a bigger lift. Thats just my opinion tho
I hear ya

I make my assumption purely off of the "wish or hope " bro science approach o_O.

Most BB incline press are significantly lower than their flats, that's why I brought it up.

●Normally I'd press with my index finger on the mark on the bar. This time I opted to put my pinky on the mark. :D. Felt like I could throw the weight clear across the room●

Personally I find the incline better to build a more aesthetic chest but it's definitely a harder excercise than flat.

I find that dudes with a crazy ohp though (we'll say 1.3x bw) will do incline at a similar weight to to their flat.

Its just body mechanics and leverages which vary individual to individual

By definition i should not be a good bench presser. My visual leverages should inhibit me from big numbers but my tendons are very strong from years and years of training and work. Most big benchers have huge triceps. My arms are never ever the focal point of my press. And i have a chest tape measurement that reflects that. Never any muscle tears or tendon injuries which shows a long progression of muscle maturity. And i didnt start gear early. Which helps a fucking metric shit ton

Develop the pecs, shoulders and triceps and work your way up.
Its a much more fulfilling experience when you look like you can bench 405 and actually do it. Instead of just making 405 a goal
No doubt man. I hit chest and arms hard 2X a week. I'm slowly getting there. Its going to happen, I put in the work and I think I have it in me to have big numbers like that.
