Look, I have been around here long enough to watch the development of a thread or two unfold. And this argument of 'stay on track and don't derail the thread' has been going on for years.
But i believe the concept of 'stay on topic' is a lot like the people who claim to want 'healthier food options' at McDonalds. Some folks claim they want this, but what happens when they get it? They avoid it.
McDonald's puts salads and wraps on the menu, and you still order doubles cheeseburgers and quarter pounders.
Meso has threads that stick to the topic, and it ends up on the third page by the end of the day. Yet how many clicks do you think Ozzy's wife's ass got? And how much livelier was the thread last night because of it?
You might say you want threads that ONLY stay on topic, you might think you want that, but Millard has significantly more thread participation because of the personalities and off topic banter created in many threads here.
Also, we have to accept the fact that those members who are really going to listen to the warnings will do so with or without the off topic banter. The people who will heed the warnings are the same people who read through the threads. The people who can't be bothered to read through the off topic stuff are not really here to dig in and learn anyways, in my opinion.
If I was considering sending five or six bones to someone for material that I was then going to INJECT INTO MY BLOODSTREAM, I'd damn sure not let pics of Doc's girls titties or Oz's wife's ass stop me from reading through!

Ha all you have to do with this thread is read page one and make-up your mind. As far as everything else plenty of guys like to be social here and have a good time . It happens some just don't have that type of relationship with other members and don't get it I guess. I am sorry I missed it. Btw off topic thread will never work it was s the wild wild west here and that just doesn't work for some personality types. Once you let go of that need for a structured environment you can appreciate the chaos that ensues. Remember meso is bigger then a just a steroid forum it is truly a great experiment in sociological chaos.
I Like the idea. It would out right end the problem with scammer sources. Gone.
A moderator for sources only.
I thinks its everyones job to be hard on any source that walks through here. Why be nice to some guy trying to make money and potentialy scam us or send us to the hospital?So in a sense all of us are already moderator/rregulators of srcs.

It is a great experiment, I love escaping my life and coming to meso. If everyday life was anything like meso there would be less crime and a lot less dumb fucks running around.
I say why even deal with them, just give them the boot day one, if believe they are here to scam.
I'm not saying anything about limiting free speech, but sources are not members imo.
I can live with out the useless chaos. It in now way benefits anyone. Sorry I place much more value on intelligent dialogue. If chaos worked we would see it everywhere in life. Truth is it never worked here or anywhere else.

Then add that with your talk of moderators and I would say then meso is not the place for you. You can't change what meso is and I never understand why people try to. It is quite simple everybody says their piece and then people can use their own deductive reasoning to decide what to do. After that that no control everyone is in charge of their own outcome here. I think you don't quite grasp chaos maybe a better word is no order or authority just people putting it out there as they see fit. Some can't handle this most people want to be controlled in some fashion and told what to do. Not all though some like to live awake from the slumber of a controlled existence. It is what it is Paul. Paul I like you and have no beef but you need to be honest with yourself you don't like how meso is.... do you? You want it molded into your fancy but once again that's not meso. It works Paul you just got to surf it sometimes the waves here are challenging and go against the ingrained nature of control .
Off topic banter is the window into people's personalities which, if you're going to be a true member of meso and get to know people on a personal level and not just the content they post, is in my opinion crucially important. It's that personal connection that then drives and inspires us when a member you have come to KNOW says something that strikes a common cord with you. The off topic banter makes us real and connects us. Otherwise it would be dry and then why not just read books about lifting and diet and aas because that's what meso would be. Instead it's a brotherhood. On another thread OGH shared a personal dilemma he was going through and everyone on that thread was affected by it and sent alot of love his way. It wasn't because of the information he's shared regarding working out and diet. It's because along with the good info he's posted we've also come to know him. Probably because of the personal off topic stuff he's shared in between. Also, the off topic shit is usually a needed break from the topic at hand and it always seems to go back on topic when it's time. Newer members will come to figure this out in time just as I did. I've enjoyed discovering your personalities and I hope I will become a known part of this community just as all of you. But it'll never happen with out the personal connection that comes during the off topic banter. But...if you want dry popcorn fart information there's always the public library. Shhhhhhh.
