Brutus79 I feel ya on the for 405 bench, that's been my arch enemy for a while now, been stuck at 385 for a long minute...but that tren ace is kicking in and I can feel it coming soon...Good luck brother!
 
Great work guys. 385 is strong Brutus and if JB can do 315 for 9 he has 400 in him for sure-could be a set up or leverage issue but no doubt the strength is there to do 400+.

My biggest problem is getting it down to my chest, it's like my body is fighting it all the way.. I'm sure there's other issues too though..

I have the same problem when I try to bench 400lbs only my body doesn't put up any fight cause I have noodle arms and no chest, it would kill me quickly. You guys are in another league compared to me.

We work on that next with your squat my brother... Once I hit 405 we are going to start paused benches like @Masters Power has been doing in his log. I think that will help restore your mobility amd spread your muscles.

Believe that I'm working on it, No joke I've put probably 100lbs on my bench in the year I've been lifting now. When I first started last December 115 for 2 sets of 10 was HARD. Now I'm repping 170 for 4 x 10. I see the progress, you guys just push me to work hard and I know that in a couple of years I'll be where you two are now.
 
Yah that is probably the biggest thing I've learned since I joined here. 2014 was all about getting consistent hitting the gym and working on form, 2015 will be all about the diet. Thank you both again for this log you have no idea how much it has helped me.

Have Brutus or someone else get a video of you on a near max bench from about 5 or 6 six feet directly in front of the bench and then on another attempt get one from the side just in front of the plates again from about 5 feet away. PM them to me and I bet we can get it figured out.
 
I was stuck on 375 for months and i found a good video and realized my form wasn't good. Got the problem fixed and the bench started going up fast got it up to 460 in 9 months. Not saying your form is bad but might be something to look into. It can make a big difference.

I've heard that useing the slingshot will help your bench go up. I've never tried one before tho.

Yes it allows for an overload at the strongest point of the press, in a way like pin presses. U will be surprised how strong u will get implementing different techniques. Slingshot is a great tool.

Now my left shoulder is all fucked up...happens every couple months.
.I've got to got 405 before the new year....cause my next goal for 2015 is 495...good luck to me fellas..lol

Slingshot is a tool that allows you to overload the middle and top portions of the bench. If you are weak in either or both of those spots it may be useful, if you are weak off the chest it won't likely be of much benefit.

I wouldn't recommend using the slingshot without a spotter even in a rack. The slingshot can get you out of your groove and when your handling at or above your normal bench max this can lead to trouble quickly.

Keeping my shoulder blades pinched together through the bench, keeping my lower back rounded so I can drive with my legs instead of my delts and making sure my grip is narrow enough prevented me from ever having another shoulder injury benching.
 
405 will be nice, but so is 385..

I am working on 165 and I almost got it.. well with my girl's help.
I hate when she calls me a pussy.. It's so demotivating..
