After staying in the trenches during the Great Canadian Milk War of 2017 I decided to throw caution to the wind and purchase a container of Almond Milk. Thinking it would taste not so pleasant I was rather surprised as to how palatable it actually was. I think I will buy it again, and who knows perhaps in a year or two I might even try those packaged egg whites.

Buy chia seeds, soak in almond milk overnight with some artificial sweetener, delicious breakfast in the morning with slow digesting carbs and a bit of protein. Cut a banana on top of it and eat. No bloat, no dairy. Happy days.

in terms of drinking as is or mixing in cereal, almond milk will taste better than egg whites; but I find the opposite for mixing with protein powder - the egg whites not only taste better when blended with protein powder but they also add a lot of protein so you're still getting more "real food" vs powdered protein if that means anything to you (some feel whey is inferior to real or whole food for example).

Regardless I don't buy cow milk for anything, haven't for years. Growing up my parents made me drink it because there wasn't as much knowledge out there so it was easier to give in to the propaganda of the "happy cow" images or the "3-4 glasses of milk a day when you're a child or teen who is growing" etc

Anyone else use MP's Oats and whey? I fucking love the stuff. Saves me so much time and I'm getting in high quality carbs too. THrow in some PB for a few extra calories and its a winner.

I think I got 11lbs for 85 shipped.

In a small way the dairy industry has been affected or at least feels a bit threatened by us soldiers in trenches fighting the war on milk, for example I've seen TV commercials where they try to promote cow milk based on the fact that it's ingredients simply read "milk" and have nothing that's difficult to pronounce lol.

They also made a fuss over Muscle Milk by Cytosport being sold in Canada with the word "milk" in it  Notice in the US the labels read "Muscle Milk" but in Canada for the exact same product it gets labelled "Muscle Mlk" lmao. Even almond/coconut/cashew "milk" has to be labelled "beverage" instead of using the world "milk."

I've also noticed grocery stores adding pictures of dairy farmers with their kids and wives in the milk section with labels like "proudly farmed in Canada" or in such and such province and "the so and so family of dairy farmers have been loving their cows for x number of decades" etc.

All this just increases our resolve and determination in our trenches. We may be losing the current battles but we intend to win the war!

I might check that out.

I also like those protein pancake "supplements," it takes too much time to make small pancakes over a skillet so instead I'll spray a bit of oil in a large bowl and pour the blended water and protein pancake mix into it, microwave it and it turns into a large, bowl shaped "protein cake," with a bit more carbs than protein but not a whole lot, some fiber and relatively low fat. So far I've just used those smaller containers from Popeyes but I noticed a larger size from Costco that probably works out to be pretty cheap per serving. I pour Walden Farms calorie free pancake syrup over it too.

Yeah Ive noticed costco has a tonne of good supplement stuff. Although I don't have a card and can't go there regulary.

50$ a year bro! Come on!

I eat vegan protein. I found since I switched off whey my sinuses aren't as stuffy. Took a bit to find good tasting powder tho as most vegan shit is fucking horrid

**Free Cdnguy!!**

yeah most protein powders indirectly support they dairy industry :( I have some vegasport but nothing beats the taste of BSN for me (altho that's not vegan)

Come June will be $65

It definitely is. They have some of the best QC in all of the major supplement companies. Currently 55 bucks for 11lbs of oats and whey with code PROT30, so thats a bargain.

Yeah it really is. I have 4 scoops a day total and out of that I get 102g of protein and 50g of oat carbs (the best sort of carbs in my opinion). Less than 2 teaspoons of sugar in those 4 scoops aswell. I might stock up actually.
