can’t stay asleep

If you have a smart watch or one of those fitness rings you should monitor your sleep quality. Make sure your sleep architecture is intact. Sounds like it is from your experience, but its a nice tool to have if you ever get the chance.
I'll put my Apple Watch on tonight and report back. I feel weird keeping it on during my sleep but it's a pretty useful tool. I'll start doing so and keeping track of which meds do what (sticking to Mirtazapine for the near future)

Got an RX for both Mirtazapine and Vyvanse. The Vyvanse I plan to steer clear of. It’s the last thing I need right now- more CNS stimulation.

I have no excuse to not use Mirt now, very grateful my PCP gave me a script for it. Thanks for all the input added to this thread guys. Love to hear about others’ experiences
what are your thoughts on being on vyanse as well as on aas and hgh?

Not sure yet. I haven't touched the Vyvanse, and I'm not on HGH anymore. Doesn't really seem like HGH would affect all that much either..?

I'd save it for when I need it like longer workdays. He gave me 20mgs to start off. Don't plan on daily use yet unless needed. I really am not looking for more sleep issues or overstimulation right now...

idk if this has been posted already, but I would like to sell you on taurine and glycine. two amino acids where I feel the harm to the brain and body is kinda low. NAC has also been proven to blunt dopamine release IIRC, I always feel a lot calmer when taking nac. NAC and glycine synergize well together and all together remove a lot of stress from an intense workday.

I was just thinking the increased heart rate would result in more hypertrophy to the heart, which would be something I would steer clear from. especially when using AAS.

Anxiety itself can remodel the heart without any AAS. If you look into the long term outcomes of people treated with SSRIs for anxiety they have better cardiac outcomes.

I've given up trying to fix my 3AM waking and have instead made it my new rise time. I fall asleep 8-9PM, so it affords me 6-7 hours of sleep, which is just fine for me. Ever since ramping out of deficit, the fragmentation up to that point has improved at least.

First thing I do is enjoy a cup of coffee, then it's browsing the Internet for a while, checking on jobs (been looking for extra work a long time), may clean a bit, do dishes/laundry.. really just all standard stuff. I have a running list of things to do that grows more than it shrinks (ahem). Like right now, I bought an Axial SCX30, a small RC Jeep, that I'm modifying with a POV camera and upgraded lights so I can use it to inspect ductwork. I do a lot of home improvement type of stuff but for an apartment. I shouldn't be spending the time on something I don't own, but I enjoy living here. Maintenance is good but doesn't have the time to really get down to details like I do.

I don't see how you made a connection to SSRI's, while vyanse is a dopamine releasing agent and reuptake inhibitor. it doesn't work on serotonin at all. but TIL

Update:

Another day 15mgs Mirtazapine
Feel groggy this morning but didn’t wake again
Did smoke before bed too, I feel like my REM does get altered when I do but it helps. Any sleep is better than none

Mirtz has greatly helped

Have you tried glycine? 5g before bed helps me quite a bit

I tried the "GPT stack" I see mentioned a lot, which includes Glycine, Theanine, and Apigenin. It did help but left me groggy. Not really sure which one of those did the heavy lifting, but I'd bet it was the Glycine.

SSRIs reduce anxiety more reliably than they ease depression. Steroids lower serotonin and exacerbate anxiety.

Anyway stimulants like vyvanse can have a negative impact on the heart due to increasing stress. But so can anxiety itself.

That was really my point although I didn't explain it.

It comes from my own experience of not needing beta blockers as much after starting antidepressants. Also noticing my resting heart rate dropped too.
