A Carroll College football player was sentenced this week to a 6 month suspended sentence after pleading no contest to misdemeanor possession of steroid pills. District Judge Mike Menahan sentenced Jordan Christopher Jernigan from great falls after amending his charge from two felony counts of criminal possession with intent to distribute, to just one count.

The Missouri river drug task force seized 600 anabolic steroid pills when it entered the country from the Republic of Moldova. Detectives than made a controlled delivery to Jernigan at Carroll College who name and mailing address was on the package. Carroll College cannot discuss student disciplinary issues but they did release a statement which you can read can be read below. The Court documents are in the images gallery above.

CARROLL COLLEGE’S OFFICIAL STATEMENT:

Due to Carroll College’s legal obligation to comply with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), we cannot share details about disciplinary measures regarding a particular student.

While we cannot speak to a specific student’s situation, we can explain our student conduct code process, which can be found in detail in the Carroll Student Handbook (p. 106).

The college’s student conduct administrator reviews each individual case as it pertains to Carroll’s student conduct code procedures. At the start of the process, a student is asked to submit a written statement. If the student takes responsibility for the violation, the focus of the discussion is on the behavior and the sanctions. If the student does not acknowledge responsibility, the student conduct administrator can schedule a conduct board hearing to determine if there was a violation of college policy and have the board determine the sanctions.

In situations regarding student-athletes, the director of athletics will review the case as it pertains to the student-athlete Commitment to Excellence contract and make a determination regarding any sanctions.

This news article really ruined my day, for a variety of reasons. I thought if your pack got snagged by customs, you just got a seizure letter. I wonder what the mitigating factors were that made them go after this kid.

Sucks to be that kid. Probably went after him because he may have been living the dorms with a p.o. box which may have sent up a red flag. Not to mention he is on campus with 600 pills hence the intent charge (to college students).
Drugs and kids are not a good mix and will get you fucked! This kid got off good with one count. This is pure speculation and again I feel for the kid.

Man, Take a look at him. He definitely needed it.

They got warrants for his cell phone.

On another site, DHS got involved and his school also helped with the CD.

Another website said he got arrested, pissed his pants, and confessed to everything and more. He ratted out his friend and gave the cops permission to search his dorm and gave him his first shipment- which he received and they did not know about.

So it sucks that in Helena, this is big time for them. But the dude did not keep his mouth shut......

I want to speak to my lawyer.

Am I under arrest, I want to speak to my lawyer.

yeah, thats the article I really wanted but it wouldnt load for me. Thanks.
He sang like a lil kid didnt he,lol. You dont fuck with bubblegummers, they're trouble.

Still, why'd they go after him ? College address and quantity? I wonder what kind of stealth (or lack of) was used.

No stealth from what I read. 600 Pills but it was 30 boxes x 20, so it probably did look like a small shipment for distribution.
It went from DHS NJ/ICE to Helene to Missouri Drug Task Force- probably had not\ busts so they needed the work.

If the kid would have shut up, or order small amount of raws, or ordered from a domestic source. he would have been better off. And his first shipment came in fine- and no one knew about it. Bad luck, and he was easy prey.

They squeeze and he gave them what they wanted.

Google the first couple of sentences, you will find another site with the write up and a breakdown of what happened but basically what I wrote.

Am I under arrest?
I want to speak to my lawyer.
Am I under arrest? Am I free to go?
