Chemman's log

Just logging this for future reference

Doing a little better as time proceeds (4 days) since the injection. This could mean two things:

(1.) The T is absorbing and doing its thing

(2.) The T spike actually made me feel worse and now that the levels are declining I am feeling better

I do admit that something hit me like a ton of bricks 48 hours after the shot. Felt really spacey and extremely fatigued but jittery/anxious at the same time.

The one thing that has seemed to improve are the joint issues. My toes have stopped cracking when I walk and I can count on my fingers how many time my large joints popped or snapped today.

I can't definitively say many things, but I would bet a lot of money on it.

Well who knows.... it's all speculation at this point. There's a member on this forum who I won't name who has/had been on TRT for 3+ years, and he has suffered from a lack of libido for all those three years.

And this while attempting to balance T/E2 ... which apparently isn't easy to do.

How is libido?

How is libido?

I felt a hint of it a few days ago but it's still pretty dead. My dick is so dead without cialis. I HATE it. You think a few months without libido sucks? Try 13 months.

Funny thing is that a few days after I had to stop clomid, I felt libido for the first time in ages. Got some spontaneous wood. This lasted for about half a day.

I had some ED before this whole mess, but it has gotten so much worse. I also think this nice anxiety problem I have developed dampens any possibility of a libido.

I need to keep doing the TRT and get some labs before I make any conclusions. If labs are good and I still feel bad, well, f***.

GO back to square one the adrenals....

This is getting off-topic for the thread, but it is an opportune time to address head trauma and hypogonadism. Head trauma is described in the literature associated with hypogonadism (see attachment). This makes sense when you think about the anatomy of the relationship between the hypothalamus and pituitary.

Dr. Scally, thanks for posting this. I smashed my face really badly in Sept. 2004. Some time in 2005 in started noticing low T symptoms. It started with ED and progressed onward. This could have been the reason for my low T.

I'm just curious, but have you had an pituitary MRI w/wo contrast?

Hmm

I feel your frusteration yo. I hope the shots work out for you.

Yeah anxiety is brutal for libido. So is stress. So is thinking too much.

Have you tried a drink to shut off your thoughts? Not multiple drinks, but just say ONE pint of beer to shut off your anxiety/thoughts? Obviously not as a solution to your libido issues, but it may help you relax and perform better (even with cialis) while you try to figure out the overall issue.

HAN, you constantly mention "adrenals" before jumping on TRT

I don't understand what you mean exactly...... how does one treat bad adrenals????????

Yes, I'd like to know this too. My adrenals are now very F'ed up because of trating rt3 with iodoral before addessing my adrenal issues.

My HRT progress has taken a severe setback because of this.

I'm pretty sure he recommends throwing HC at the problem, which, really is a band-aid fix and will not really take away the root of the problems. This is another example of how "alternative medicine" works.

Many times in older men, their adrenals have been racked so badly from stress, there is no other recourse than to start HC in order to live a decent life.

I can tell you that I've been shaking and have very low energy levels the last few days because my adrenals are so messed up. This wasn't the case a couple of weeks ago. I was on my way back to health.

I'm not blaming anyone. There is a little "black art" in HRT. I just want to feel better.

Is there any non band aid "fix" for adrenals though? I don't think so....

Iodoral screwed me up as well. It has given me some wicked eye floaters and I think set me back as well. Needless to say, I don't take any supplements anymore. The root cause for all of my issues was an herbal supplement after all.

I actually do think I may have a problem with my adrenal glands, but I just don't know how one goes about fixing that. HC at my age is probably a bad idea. I think the real answer is time and rest. Activities such as weightlifting are probably a real bad idea for me. Stupid me I tried to start lifting again a few weeks ago.

I'm going to stick with the TRT until I get some decent labs but if no improvement I will probably bail.

@Tyler: I can't drink right now. Not even one brew. It sucks. It gives me more anxiety and depression. I have to stay clean if I'm going to have any chance.

What are your symptoms? How do you handle stress? Are you sleeping? Are you staying away from caffiene? There is isocort for the adrenals. I thought about this.

I am back to lifting. Making decent gains for my age and recovering well. At least until I started the iodoral. I watch the volume when lifting and have done deloads somewhat regularly.

I've been shaky as hell the last few days. My energy has been down bigtime.

Sleep is not bad. I was having some problems a few months ago but that improved.

I haven't touched caffeine in 7 months and have had 2 beers in that time frame as well.

Handling stress? LOL. Terrible. But I am under a ton of stress. No job. Tons of health problems. It sucks.

Symptoms? Joint problems, loss of body hair (a lot has returned), depression, anxiety, weakness, intolerance to exercise, no libido, horrible ED.
