City of Grit's first go at powerlifting

That there gentleman is exactly why I don’t fuck with white girls. Latinas is where it’s at, the less Americanized the better.
I second this x100.

if you can learn to adjust or survive their crazy attitudes, latinas are perfect and loyal as hell. My wife was fresh over the fence Colombian when I met her, lol.

I really need to keep up on this log daily. Typing up 4 days sucks.

I have failed as of late to keep up on my log. I have still been training and I even have a little meet scheduled at the community center. I'll start from today, and keep up with it going forward.

Low bar (my go to) squats

320 lbs. 1 × 2
290 lbs. 5 × 3

3 sec. paused bench

245 lbs. 1 × 3
225 lbs. 4 × 3

Dumbbell curls (palms up)

30 lbs. 1 × 10
2 × 8

Lat pulldowns

140 lbs. 3 × 10

Ham/glute raises

20 lbs. dumbbell 3 × 14

I was surprised by how easy 320 was for me. I drop very low when I squat and with a narrow stance. I'm wondering what my attempts should be in competition.

How long until the meet? Is it sanctioned?

Nice

I'm still trying to master low bar.

I think my hips just don't have the flexibility to deal with it.
I SHOULD be squatting more on low bar, but High Bar keeps calling my name.

Tips for making the switch?
My glutes are currently my weakest point in my.lifts and I figure low bar will help bring then to speed.

Gradually move the bar lower down your back and spread your feet out a bit every couple weeks until you get there. An inch or so at a time

Nope just a little thing the Center put together. Should be fun though and a good way to dip my feet in. The event filled up too, so there should actually be quite a few people there

Hammer those glutes man! Back extensions and GHR until you’re sick of them.

@Cityofgrit good to see you back bro.

Its actually pain on the decent on bench. It hurts from my shoulder underneath my bicep to my inner elbow

I didn't think about that
Yeah man, I didn’t either until PA mentioned it... I used to get terrible tendonitis and I thought it was from pressing too much.. but now I bench twice a week and do OHP and no pain. But, without fail, every time I squat—the day after, I get pin exactly as you described.

Probably from squatting. It’s the number 1 reason I only squat once / twice a month now... It sucks, but I like not being in pain.
Yep happens to me also. @Cityofgrit get some wrist wraps from elite FTS or Pioneer. Wear them especially on low bar squats. Work on squat grip positions, this helped me out quite a bit
