Thanks went up easy but took off some skin off the thumb at 405 so pretty tender on the bar... it's close I am happyYou might've pulled 500lbs if you tried it. You could've tripled that most likely.

Very nice pull. Smooth.
That was smooth, you had at least 475
Thanks brother. That pull was a thing of beauty, brother! Congrats on the new PR!
Tape + straps until it’s healedSo I deadlift 3 times every 2 weeks. Next week I deadlift Monday and Friday. A week ago Friday I tore the skin off my thumb. I cut the flap off and felt it was good. Yesterday at 405 I ripped it open again and started bleeding pretty good. Chalked it up and pulled 455 and again made it worse. Had some cleaning to do on bar and platform and anything else as I continued to lift.
To get to the point any suggestions on protecting the wound so I can continue deadlifting as I plan? Tape the thumb maybe?
Tape yes cant stomach straps lol bit may have too to keep pushing upTape + straps until it’s healed
Ok will do, I use them on heavy shrugs, rows and pulldowns if higher reps as well.I'd just use the straps till it heals. That's one of the only uses I have for them is saving my hands. That and high rep accessory work where I need the equal lat activation like snatch grip deadlift.
