Cowboy's Switch the Darkside

Word to live by right there.

Your so right on form... both bench and squat need that work... my buddy spotting me at 265 bench last week said my left side is way lower than right on the way up

Like I always say, lots of lower intensity work is how you master form. It's not glamorous or exciting unfortunately, but it's effective.

Need to record yourself a lot from different angles. I usually start recording my sets when I'm at 90% of my projected top set and all of my working sets. Almost always with comp lifts and often with variations.

I delete probably 90% of my videos right after I take them and look at them and still have almost 1000 on my phone right now. I analyze form between sets and make adjustments if necessary. Look out for things like being uneven on bench, bar speed and path and other stuff like that. Review them at home as well. Maybe I'm obsessive, I don't know. I do know that it helps.

If you're gonna obsess over something this is the kind of stuff to obsess over in my opinion. So many gains to be made through perfecting your form. Little things in your setup and execution make so much difference.

Anyway, sorry for spamming your log. I'm laid up here on my couch depressed about my back. Talking about training cheers me up. Love the sport and giving back whatever I can. This is more than just a forum to me and I consider you guys my friends.

@Perrin Aybara it is most definitely not spam. It is great info for me and anyone else that reads my log, so spam away lol.

I don't have alot of bench videos, none now that i bench wider. I have had the powerlifters critique my bench form and they said perfect but it wasnt a high % lift. They have also commented on my deads and say I am good on it. No comments from them on squats yet... i will do more vids for sure. Great tips please keep them coming

Opinions?

So as mentioned I was thinking of doing some kind of lift focus blocks. I am in the process of making the program up. Right now, as I want the first focus to be bench, it is kind of a hybrid of Smolov and 531.

Way back I said I would post pics of bars at my gym. This is the only bar with any identifying label. The rest just have a hex screw on the ends.

Yeah I don't think they have a deadlift bar, all my lifts on a regular bar.
I’ve been told that’s a good thing—if you get proficient with a stiff bar (that’s all I have to work with as well), once you use a DL bar you can expect to add a sizable amount to your max. I’ve heard of some guys having a 10% difference, which is pretty damn huge.

30 min fasted cardio and blood donation day.

Hemoglobin at 17 so down from 18.3 last time. Donated but they didnt quite get the full load a couple ml shy. Got light headed and tunnel vision this time, nurse said i went white lol... first time this has happened, dont know if its due to cutting, ephedrine up to last Sunday, lack of sleep, a combination of this or just happens sometimes. Pretty tired right now..

Squat day tomorrow

Happens to me on occasion.
I'm quite obviously not afraid of needles... but getting an IV or giving blood, messes me up lol

If I’m not 100% giving blood makes me pass out. I can’t even do the regular fucking blood tests truly fasted. Shit fucks me up if I’m on a diet or doing much cardio

It’s weird for me...I’ve watched myself get stitched up, got plenty of tatts, AAS etc...But I’ve passed out twice watching other people get IV’s. Idk WTF it is lmao
