Dbol Does Not Build Contractile Tissue

Sorry to sideline the argument. But there is a theory that sarcoplasmic hypertrophy is a preceding step to myofibrilar hypertrophy.

So it may not be anabolic but sets the muscle up for anabolism. Like HGH does...

My first cycle was 500 mg test only, 12 weeks. My second cycle was 500 mg test 12 weeks and 50 mg dbol the last 6 weeks of the cycle. I can confirm that dbol added size, very noticeable. And I didn't lose anything after stopping it, only the normal water/glycogen stores.

I know this is anecdotal, but I thought someone might find it interesting. The article might be right, but there must be some other path that makes dbol grow muscle like a beast.

The title is not "Dbol is useless for building muscle". As a cycle additive, it does seem to potentiate other anabolics but in a vacuum it does fuckall but give water gains. At least that is the gist of the study.

Yes, you're right. My use was as an additive. I've heard people used to do dbol only cycles back then, but I don't plan on running dbol solo (why would I) so I'm not willing to experiment with it.

Interesting study, I wonder if this is dbol specific or if there are other AAS that work similarly and are only good as additives to a cycle.

They only tested dbol here so I dunno. 100 mg a day and no gains were sustained upon discontinuation.

For me a 50mg dbol tab PWO gives temporary but very noticable strength increases- I don’t chase load PRs and stress tendons but almost every lift gets rep PRs on dbol. It’s just a temporary artifical strength though and I don’t keep any of it. Plus there’s the estrogenic effects and other possible sides that stop me from just eating one every day I want to work out hard.

I think that while anadrol or tren can remove some of the CNS safety barriers- pain signaling, and willingness to use raw muscle strength that might be beyond your body’s trained and trusted confidence in connective tissue under a load, that dbol actually uses cellular water leverage in addition to some of the same mechanisms- the strength is temporary but maybe more of a real mechanical advantage vs a mind over matter thing with adrol or tren.

Whatever the mechanism of strength increase- confidence and aggression mixed with removed subconscious fear of injury, or real but temporary biological upgrade, I think that anything that lets you work harder will help grow muscle in the increased recovery environment of a cycle, unless you rip a tendon off the bone or fuck your hormones and organs up.

So while being on orals for days and weeks isn’t really aligned with my goals, I totally understand the allure for powerlifters or for someone trying to milk the less productive last weeks of a cycle for lasting gains and it makes a lot of sense for some people willing to accept risks and manage sides.

I’m certainly not an expert but that’s how I look at orals after trying them to see if they’re for me or not. At this point they’re kinda ‘once in a while for funsies’ haha
