I have been suffering from low thyroid/low T (I am hoping that my low T eventually recovers as I lose weight because I kinda gave up on getting the prescription thanks to the insurance's "you are not low enough" bullshit. )for quite sometime and been trying to lose weight as well, but for some reason even at consistently low calorie intakess (1000-1200 kcal) I was unable to lose weight as much (there was a time i lost 110lb from 280lb only to gain 70% back due to school), at least from what my weight scales told me. I am around 260lb and I absolutely hate it, especially because I work out 4 times a day, mixing weight training and cardio.
I also have been replacing my whole diet with whey protein isolates because my new job takes so much time that I just don't want to cook, but about a month ago, I read that calcium interferes with levothyroxine, and that it has to be taken in an empty stomach ideally 3 hours before and after taking the Levo...my PCP never told me these. So, I cut my whey protein intake 80% and actually put effort to eat meat and tofu instead, and started to practice strict no-food for 3 hours before and after taking levo...and lo and behold, I lost 5 lb so far. I wondered if there was a similar case, and read a case study where a woman constantly suffered from high TSH even with high levo prescription until she stopped taking whey protein.
Anyone with the similar experience?
