Dr Crisler congratulates himself on receiving an award from a scam organization!!

I hate to break it to you, but Crisler's TRT paper is a POS. I have commented on the multiple errors elsewhere. Also, you do not see this cited anywhere in the published literature (PubMed). Crisler is a giant in his own mind. This part of your post has him pegged exactly. He is an intellectual wimp. Crisler runs from the peer reviewed literature because he is so stupid. The facts will always defeat his BS. For example, 24-hour urine testing. DHEA backfilling in TRT, adrenal fatigue, and more. [The political angle is pathetic.]

I realize that this "paper" was never peer-reviewed and would not count as a publication in any academic setting. I can't speak to its accuracy. I am in no way defending him and this "make believe award."

I was just commenting on the fact that I was a "freakin mess" caused by low testosterone and the traditional medical establishment let me down. I read this "white paper" and although it might be error ridden it was more than I had before.

My endocrinologist would have never, ever tested my testosterone had I not yelled and screamed; I was a very sick man. He couldn't believe that a guy as big and strong as I was had low testosterone. I had anxiety so bad, was so tired, was so sleep deprived I honestly think I was slowly dying!!

Thank the Almighty for the internet, this forum, etc and an MD that actually listened to me. I am now 60, 219 lbs, do a hard hour of cardio 5 days/week, bench 330+, squat 400+ and finally FEEL REALLY GOOD all due to TRT!

Hey Dr. Crisler, you just won a new car for being such a tool! Of course I will need you to pay for the car because I will be presenting this award to all the other tools! No prob right?

I love how he just deletes anything that makes him look stupid! The problem is he keeps the post that make him look like a blatant idiot! HIS OWN![:o)]

I have the answer to this long asked riddle.

Scally and crisler is one person.

As a former patient of Dr. Scally's I can honestly say he is doesn't bare any resemblance to Dr. Crisler. I wonder though what kind of a Dr. we would have if they morphed into the other.

Dr Crisler will only tolerate posters who agree with him, and he's created a "cult like" atmosphere on his forum. It feeds his massive ego, and the guy is a legend in his own mind.

The straw that broke the camels back, is his ridiculous political rants (on a health forum), and his fake award. WTF?

Dude is a nutjob.

Someone has made a post asking if Crisler bought the award.

This should be good.

Oh yea, get out the popcorn !

He should be here shortly.

I did like his comments on how bad national health care is, hmm could that be because visits to him won't be covered ? LOL

realistically though.

How does accepting a sham award (if everything about it being a sham is true) make crisler some kind of scammer? People are going to flock to him because he got some shitty plaque nobody ever heard of? I've only heard of a handful of unhappy patients of his, so i assume hes doing something right....

A very emotional topic. . You will be assimilated. Logic is irrelevant

I respect your opinion but could you please elaborate on why the 24-hr hormone urine test is invalid, and what is DHEA backfilling in TRT?

Thanks...this is not meant as a challenge but only a request for your opinion.

Well I was a patient of Crisler and feel I wasted my time and money. I took the 24 hour hormonal urine test and paid without insurance. Crisler received a copy of the test and would not let me see it until I talked with him via phone for $60. I had no idea what was on the test. So I asked dumb questions like how was my estradiol..he answered ok. How was my thyroid and adrenals..he answered ok without telling me what any measures were. He then said start taking DHEA 50mg per day it's low. That was it, 10min and $60. When I paid him $5 to receive a copy of my 24 hour urine test and saw the 29 different hormonal measures and their ranges I had a 100 questions. So I sent him an email with those questions which was never ever answered. Thus I felt I had been scammed and stopped seeing Crisler..

I don't even know where to begin with this but....

First, nowhere does he require you to do a Rhein 24hr urine test. If your insurance covers the usual blood work like everyone else, he will send the script in to Labcorp/Quest etc...and request the test. Most will do 24hr urine exams also through insurance. I don't recall it anywhere being said you must take a Rhein urine exam or no patient consult?

Then you can have a follow up to go over the results. $5 for some lab results? Yes, my local doctor will give me blood work while I am there at the office no charge if requested. But they are worthless since he never could order the correct hormone labs, won't do a RT3, which I have problems with etc...so I pretty much never ask for lab work from my local doctor.

But I always laugh when people bring this up. $5...are you kidding..let's see, I spent $7 today at Starbucks alone for some green tea, a breakfast sandwich and a pastry...so, hmm..last month, like every month, ATT screwed me for $220 for my two iphones...yes....$5 is going to really put a hurting on somebody, give me a break.

$5 for somebody to file the labs, scan and make a .pdf file and email it to you is nothing. You must work at McDonalds if you think $5 is actaully worth mentioning in this day and age.

The Rhein is OK and gives you a great deal of information for the money at one fell swoop. Again, if your insurance doesn't cover it and you can't afford it, then don't do it, that simple.

As far as the consult, can't talk about that. But, how many doctors have spent more than 10 minutes with you? I had a few over the years, but they won't touch prescribing T, and don't want to do T4/T3 combo. My local doc will do the T4/T3 synthetic, but he stated that it has been shown that adding T3 doesn't do anything more than T4. I just shrug and say call in the script, and he does it. Anything more than a sinus infection, forget it, he is pretty useless as most doctors are related to male hormones and the treatment of such and thryoid.

I had a discussion with a doctor one day when I asked why he was running 1.5hrs behind.

His exact statement: "People don't want to just come in and take their 10 minutes of time and then leave. They want to go on and on asking all sorts of questions."

I said, well, maybe you should allot more time patients than 10 minutes. He just laughed and said, yeah right, to keep this place running with the expenses, it is 10 minutes and we have to move on.

So, I really don't think for $60 for 10 minutes of time, which is what pretty much any standard negotiated doctor rate even through insurance, is off base at all really. Shoot, most specialist such as a ENT will run $100-120 through insurance negotitated rates, and they will give you the 10-15 minutes and then you are pushed out the door. Want an MRI/CAT scan etc?!?! That will run you $400. Get yourself an HSA and let me know how much stuff costs...all of this Obama pie in the sky health care crap is going to cost us all, particularly if you pay a lot in taxes like some of us.

Also, I have always had some type of action planned and pushed the issue with any doctor on what exactly is needed and where do we go from here. If they don't give me that, well, I will let them know. It hasn't come to that yet though personally.

Good luck.

I've asked him this also, but it seems he's so obsessed with Crisler he can't give an answer.

I would like to know also.

All I can say for me, I use both. But I feel like the urine gives a more accurate showing of how I am really feeling.

But I would like to know why he feels it's invalid. Also not a challenge. We are here to learn aren't we?

I have heard this countless times and yet to hear anything negative. (well except for one guy)
