The one reason I don’t buy into Mentzers training style 100% is pretty basic; he wasn’t light years ahead of his peers developmentally.
You can compare guys like Dorian and Mentzer to guys like Ronnie and Cutler all day long and when it comes down to it, it’s genetics at that point. It’s not like any one of them has slabs of muscle on top of the other or is within 1-2% leaner than another in competition condition.
So my thing is this; why train once every week if you truly enjoy the gym? Seems like that’s for someone who looks at the gym as a task rather than a passion. That’s what kept me from buying into that shit 100%, however the principles do work, but they aren’t the only way
