Extreme bloating

I have really bad IBS that aside from living in the bathroom, my stomach bloat is out of control. I wake up with abs and once I start eating it looks like someone sliced open my stomach and shoved a basketball in there. It’s so bad that I made a doctor appointment to make sure it wasn’t something else.

She diagnosed it’s just bloat. I’ve tried everything from Beano to GasX to peppermint oil and everything in between. Besides from looking like I’m pregnant, it’s often painful as well. Anyone have issues like this and found something that helped?

Have you looked into probiotics? There are different strains better known for helping with bloat. I take one called Perfect Biotics which has 15 different strains.

I'm diagnosed with crones a actual ibd. So I feel ur pain + more, I wake up the same looking really good even drinking a shake an a liter of water first thing in the am i start to bloat.

For me if I cut excess fats/ processed crap and as much carbs as possible. My abdomen will stay flatter during the day.

For me though I'm worried about nutrient absorption, during a flair up I may have diarrhea 12x a day and feels like I can loose 10ibs muscle ina week or 2.

Have u tryed a elimination diet? It's possible if you have ibs ur just having a alergic reaction to somthing in ur diet. There's a bb at my gym that's alergic to egg whites, and it took him a while to find out what it was. John meddows had some good videos on the subject due to his ibd.

Some bb coaches specials in diets for people with ibd and crones. So imo makes sence it's mostly diet related.

I’ve taken probiotics, but never saw one that was specifically for IBS. I would love to know the brand and give it a shot.

Yeah I’ve done an elimination diet/FODMAP. It’s pretty much any and all food sends me to the bathroom. Some foods I can never eat and wrecks me for several days and then other foods are more tolerable.

I’ll definitely each for John Meadows videos on this topic. I appreciate your advice brother.

I have in the past and didn’t get relief, but I didn’t know there were certain types specifically for bloat. I really appreciate the info. I’ll dive more into that

yes interested in what you use for probiotic.
Have heard of guys doing the elimination diet. That's a real bitch but if you finally find the culprit(s) it can make a world of difference.

What do you
I’ve done an elimination diet twice to no avail. Stopping dairy unfortunately didn’t help.
Whats your daily intake look like.
outline a couple of your regular meals.
do you take any nutritional supplements?
water, coffee, tea, energy drinks, diet soda?
what does your meal timing look like?

20240305_084628.jpg ok on the right is a probiotic and the left is some peppermint oil crap that's suposed to help its all "gastroenteritis" approved lol.

The best strain in probiotics are the Lactobacillus. I may have spelled it wrong but anybody taking probiotics make sure you have multiple strains, and plenty of that specific one. Lots of these brand advertise billions of colony forming units but it’s only 1-3 strains that are inferior.

Gut health is related to almost every part of our lives too. Super important stuff. I have this same problem with bloat so I’m hopping on the thread. The men in my family have wide rib cages and our abs just go “outwards.”
Would love to see if there’s any type of solution or if it’s just bad anatomy

Did this start recently. If so what has changed.
Often people take meds to get rid of the acid in their stomach. Which slows digestion and allows things to ferment more causing gas. So adding digestive enzymes and even HCL may help.
Pre and/or probiotics may help. I am guessing you have already spent time eliminating foods from your diet to see if that helps.

I've heard artificial sweeteners are bad for your gut health also I dont know if its 1 or the other aspartame or sucralose or both or one is worse than the other but those are the more popular 2.

I know someone with similar issues. They have a very strict diet. Certain foods are just never eaten. Alcohol, spicy food, lots of acidic food, and specific things they are sensitive to are off the list. They sorted that overtime by tracking their intake and bowel response over time. I know they take PRE biotics. I believe inulin and maybe one other. They also take high-end organic turmeric with black pepper with some fat source. Also CBD + CBG + THC every evening. Something like 30mg/30mg/5mg.

Hope you find some solutions. Sounds rough.

I have IBS and the same bloating issues all the time brother. Only thing that helped me somewhat was eating close to a low fodmap diet and staying away from things that are guaranteed to mess me up.

As i remember Dexter Jackson started having issues which were at least partially if not fully resolved with avoiding artificial sweeteners in his later years. They didn't bother him when he was younger. Seems sugar can do the same for some. Things change as the years go by i find.

I maintaining right now with 2800 cal. Supplements are super green, fish, oil, CoQ10, and vitamin D3. Mostly just drink water. Coffee sometimes. I have my first meal after the gym pictured below. I train at 5:30 AM and have my meal at 7 AM. Lunch is either two cans of tuna with rice or pasta. I’ll have a protein bar somewhere in the middle there. Sometimes an egg and cheese sandwich. dinner is mostly chicken breast, turkey breast, pork chops, steak, etc. with rice or potatoes vegetables all the good stuff. If I still need more calories or carbs, I’ll throw in some waffles or peanut butter banana sandwich.
