fake ozempic sends people to hospital

sounds like its causing low blood sugar and its actually just insulin??? perhaps OTC insulin pens are getting ozempic stickers? or just OD on generic semaglutide...

Or do we have to watch out for insulin laced ozempic(seems odd though)

interesting if this pops up in other countries

ya must be someone ripping off labels of OTC insulin pens and sold as semaglutide. its not like sema is hard to come by and dont think fakes would use insulin vs semaglutide or some GLP....

would be interesting if some euro/austrian members could she some light re fake ozempic pens...

def not crazy for folks who dont eat as much already as Americans take semaglutide and have low BG symptoms..

anyhoo, obv going to see MSM scare folks away from the trend as per usual... esp as un developed GLP1 drugs come to UGL prior to approval..

naa as wouldn't target PENS so specifically... liska has mentioned fake ozempic pens in Europe already... could be mis dosed or insulin pens relabeled as the one article hinted at.. apparently the fake with insulin was even bought through a pharmacy.... 1 case so who knows...

"dont use fake pens" isn't fear mongering IMO, esp if have #s on hospitalizations due to these pens... will be interesting if anyone finds one and gets tested to see if insulin or misdosed sema...

guess its china making sure UG sema is generic style only lol

@janoshik let us know if see any strange peaks in the fake pens!

Keep in mind, I didn't say I thought it was a lie. If it's happened to a few people here and there we wouldn't know it because these articles make it seem like it's a big problem. I'd like to see some numbers before I get too excited.

of hospitalizations? or amount of fake ozempic?
I'd like to know how many cases they're seeing of serious health problems caused by fake ozempic...
We can never know the amount of fake ozempic there is on the black market. Is it being faked with insulin, some other strange drug, or something inert, and what are the odds of getting something dangerous? How big is this problem? - those are the questions that matter.

I don't know how much longer fakes are going to be so readily available for all. Pharma companies are pissed they aren't getting more money and they are pushing for legislation against the sale of 'research' GLP-1 agonists.

If there's a demand there will be a supply from somewhere, somehow. There's nothing pharma companies or law enforcement can do to put a stop to black market drug sales. If we've learned anything from the war on drugs, that's it.

Some like 50 year old mom died from taking semaglutide? (I think it was semaglutude)prescribed by her doctor to lose weight for her daughters wedding

Did you all see that on the news the other day ?

yup was discussed... her husband said she had been vomiting etc and kept taking it... case study I found stated the same but with diabetic patients with kidney disease... those who had gastro sides had more damage to there kidneys and was not reversible. ie sore tummy maybe lower dose or stop using I care about kidney function... may not be an issue till ur old, or not at all who knows.. once off patent im sure we will get a better idea of risks.

id be interested to know if anyones bloods changed as far as kidney function markers on sema as healthy individuals... would imagine tuff to figure out as loosing weight will help BP BG and kidneys but who knows. time will tell.

Yeah she was taking semaglutide and liraglutide at the same time. Side effects are to be expected but if you're getting sick constantly that should be a red flag that your body isn't handling it very well. For example, I would get a decent amount of nausea for a few days every time I increased the dosage of sema. It would be bad for one day then taper off and go away completely. That's acceptable. Throwing up regularly, not being able to eat or drink enough, not shitting for days, shitting several times per day, etc are no-go conditions for me.

Yeah it’s crazy. If I had those side effects I’d stop taking it immediately.

Shit I had some food poisoning years ago for like a week. I shit clear liquid for 3 days straight couldn’t eat or drink and lost about 12 pounds in 3 days so I drove myself to the ER the third day and asked them to figure out what’s wrong with me They gave me some antibiotics and it went away.

She had side effects for months apparently. I’d be done taking it the first week if they didn’t go away.

Very sad story nonetheless. Didn’t even make it to her daughters wedding.
