Franchise24 training log 2016/2017

Just got with main workout. I'll post it up in a few hours. Just had to take a pic of the Eleiko competition PL bar. Fucking amazing. Only I can compare it to is the Texas Power Bar. Way better.

I'm in love with this bar.

  3. 275 1x5
  4. 315 5x5 RPE 9

Close Grip Bench:

  1. 255 4x10
I had to do a lot of calculating. I threw on what I though was 365 which was actually 364 20kg bar is 44lbs then the comp collars are 11 pounds. I didn't realize that I had 375 on the bar until after the lift.

I decided to take @Docd187123 advice and work on adding muscle and strength so for the next 4 weeks I will be doing 5x5, 4x8 to build muscle and I have already increased my caloric intake. I was happy with my weight now because the the strength was increasing. But it only makes sense to add more size and new muscle and get even stronger while doing so.

With the proper training, nutrition and recovery tools. I will be able to compete at 220 and maintain most of if not all the strength I gain from adding some weight to my frame.

Hectic so I'll be do my training sessions 4 days in a row. Good thing is I'm not working to heavy so recovery won't be maximal but it will better as opposed to lifting in 2-3 rep range. I'll post up my workout later.

Early start to get cryotherapy and use the Normatec boots. Legs are sore from two weeks of no leg work. I might even hit the cryotherapy and Normatec boots twice today.

@theprodgicalson @Perrin Aybara @Docd187123 @RodgerThat I've heard you guys talk about the adrenaline rush you get from competing.

I wonder if I will experience that rush. I hope I do. After the rush of combat nothing compares to it. It's life and death/flight or flight. Most vets spend a lifetime chasing that rush of combat never to find it. Closet thing I could get to hit was riding a crotch rocket top speed.

Although I've never been in combat I've lived an incredibly adrenaline fuelled life and had many moments where I was dancing the life or death line (mostly due to trying to push the limits of gravity) and I've also driven an Aprilla RSV4 going 330kph and still accelerating but that was too fast for me. It's a different adrenaline rush, for me it's not my fight or flight it's a calm collected beast mode of adrenaline. When my name is called I go from talking with the guys in the back to a body language that would have absolutely nobody wanting to interfere with me or get in my way

I'd love to have taken that Aprilla for a ride. That's how I find myself in the gym. Controller mostly focused aggression unless someone is just yapping away that takes me out my zone if my headphones aren't on.

Looking for a local meet to just get the experience. And hopefully catch a meet next year with a few of the guys here.

Going to hire the coach for my off-season training and meet prep.

I'm beat. I've had to train 3 days in a row. Today will be 4 in a row. Due to closing on my house tomorrow, wife's cousins wedding Saturday. Next week we move into the house. Bunch packing, unpacking, assembling. Can't wait until next week is done with.

Brain fog. I forgot to log that I worked up to 455. Fixed now.

For me it's more like a tunnel vision. It's like everything else around you sounds like the teachers in Charlie Brown. I don't like to get too keyed up before I lift. Just enough to get me amped up but too much and I just forgot everything and am barbaric. Paying no mind to form or commands or anything. So it's more like a controlled adrenaline or anger for me.

Wave 1 Week 1 Day 4:

I had to train 4 days straight. Next week will be rough as well. Packing up and moving into the new house. Unpacking. Hate it. I could live out of a bag/suitcase.

As far as todays workout. Deadlifts felt hard. I know I really taxed myself with the static holds on Monday after my squat workout. I performed deficit deadlifts the other 315 5x5. Weight was flying. I was generating a lot of force and speed. Today was competition deadlift and the goal was to hit 405 1x3 then 365 5x5. Didn't happen. Also I had some serious back pumps. But I fought through it. Then laid on the mat for a bit until it subdued before moving into bench.

Competition Deadlift/Conventional:

  1. 135 1x10
  2. 225 1x5
  3. 275 1x5
  4. 315 5x3 RPE 8
3 Count Paused Bench:
  1. 135 1x10
  2. 225 1x5
  3. 245 1x5
  4. 275 5x5 RPE 8
Chest Supported Rows:
  1. 90 1x15
  2. 135 1x10
  3. 180 1x10
  4. 225 4x12
Lat Pulldowns:
  1. 140 1x15
  2. 170 1x15
  3. 180 1x12
  4. 200 4x8

Seated Close Grip Rows:

  1. 140 1x12
  2. 170 1x10
  3. 180 1x10
  4. 200 4x10
Bench actually felt good. I felt I could have gone up to 315 and done 5x5. I need the next three days to recover. I'll be close to my original training schedule next week. The following week back on track as far as schedule.

I need to start weighing myself. I just don't do it. Because I can feel my XXL shirts getting tighter in the chest and shoulder areas.

Man I went from an XL shirt fitting and looking good to now wearing a medium or large  mediums are tight but large is perfect I remember back when I was going to do double XL but then realized I'm too short so had to stop bulking and didn't want to buy any new clothes

Biggest rush I ever felt was shooting coke and heroin or maybe Dilaudid and coke. Kinda like getting hit in the chest with a sledgehammer and simultaneously going deaf from hearing a fright train right on top of you while your whole body goes all warm and fuzzy. Getting on the platform is nothing like that, but it's a big rush nonetheless. You'll love it.

I also remain very calm. I go to a peaceful place in my head and only get amped on third attempts and even then I'm calm.

In late 2014 I was 175. I was able to get to 220 natty. Just slamming down food. Then I bulked up to 240 last year. But I had to buy new clothes as well. I hate shopping for jeans or suits. Which I know many of us have this issue. Our shoulder to waist ratio is so much bigger that, I have to get suit separates or tailored. That part sucks balls. Or when I bulk and put my tie on but can't reach back to pull my collar down. LOL. I have given my wife all my large and XL shirts to sleep in.

I don't like going into the gym with a snug shirt. I like it to be loose. So nobody can tell what changes my body is going through. But many of the people at the gym always notice my shoulders. Even in the loose fitting XXL.

Pretty much a controlled/channeled aggression. I can get in that zone. I get thrown out of it easy when people want to engage in conversation while I am resting between sets.

Just to update. Log is still going. Just busy as all hell. Closed on a house on Friday, drove hour and half on Saturday to be at a wedding. Spent the weekend there.

My wife's care is in the shop, so she worked from home today. Car was suppose to be ready today, but they found a few more things that need fixing. So Thursday is the ETA for her car to be ready. I have to take her to work then pick her up tomorrow and take her to get her rental.

I have to be at our new house for a delivery between 8am-12pm. I actually have to be at the house at some point all this week. We have to finish packing and move in on Saturday. Then we will have a cleaner company and carpet cleaners come in to our current house to get all nice and clean for our tenant when he moves in next month.

I will be skipping today's workout and will be back at it tomorrow. Next week should be back to normal schedule.

Busy busy man, good luck with the new house. I should be in the market for a house in 2 years with the plan I have laid out.

Thanks brother. This is our third and last house. The other two are paid off. Now they are rental properties. It's a long tiring process. Especially if you are married. Women can be so undecided. Making the process longer.

Good luck. How is housing market in your area?

very accurate, highly relatable story. that was my go to for about two years. some speed balling coupled with some whiskey and a touch of Xanax.

third attempt deadlifts is such a rush for me. its like the world just stops and i get really intense tunnel vision. i dont hear anything except whats going on in between my ears.

@franchise24 i feel you on the schedule thing man. life has been pretty chaotic for myself the last month. will be moving at the beginning of next month and then again, out of state, at the beginning of next year. i hate moving, or helping people move, so god damn much. but i always get roped into helping people move.

im not too far from @Gobuckeyes0122 and it is definitely a sellers market right now by me. my boss just listed his house and sold it within 5 days of it being listed. my girlfriends brother listed theirs and it sold in 2 weeks. this was all within the last month or so too.
