Thank you.Good luck bro!!
Thanks bro. I'm going do my best.Kick some fucking ass bro!! I'm living vicariously through you!!![]()
Even tho you didn't hit depth, way to go bro just for doing it. Just hearing you describe it gets me pumped. You will kill it next time. Here to report on my meet results experience. And what I learned.
For starters they used a Mastodon bar didn't really change anything for me. Actually felt great on my shoulders and elbows. Could have been the week off as well.
Mistake number one. Not lifting this past week at all. I should have done all three lifts with light weight just to maintain my groove lesson learned.
On to the meet. I will say the adrenaline rush was there and I was zoned out hard.
So meat and potatoes. I bombed out and didn't know until we got done squatting. I didn't bomb out because I couldn't get the weight up. I wasn't hitting depth. I have vid from front looks like I hit depth but after watching that vid I know I could have gone lower to leave no doubts. I blame this partially on not lifting this past week. Here were my attempts and I got them all up.
1st Attempt 475
2nd Attempt 515
3rd attempt 565
I'm going back December 2nd same fed and venue. Then I'm fucking doing another meet December 16th USPA. I'm hooked. The competition the fight to get the weight up the strive to perfect my my technique in all 3 lifts. And most of all the adrenaline rush. It came pretty close to being in a firefight in Iraq and Afghanistan.
I'm not upset one bit the strength is there. I believe I'm not upset because I got such an adrenaline rush. I've been searching for something to get that rush like I had in combat. And this was the closest to it.
I hung around met some cool people exchanged numbers spoke with the director and side judges to see how off I was in depth. They said anywhere from half inch to an inch. That's a lot. Back in the Monday to prep for December. 12 weeks to get ready.
Yeah bro. I'm pumped up about the next meet. There was a guy from Tucks. I forgot his name though.Even tho you didn't hit depth, way to go bro just for doing it. Just hearing you describe it gets me pumped. You will kill it next time.
No mirrors. I go by feel. Every training session will be recorded from this point on.Awesome bro! Competition is a great experience and motivator.
Sometimes it's hard to know if you're hitting depth when your adrenaline is flowing.
Do you use a mirror to train or go by feel? Feel is the best way, and you should always try and go deeper than you need to in training, then it's natural when you compete..
Great job though! And looking forward to following the journey..
Very good idea to video your lifts to check form/depth so that there's no question. Perhaps you should have one of your buddies call depth when you squat as well, but box squats are good too.No mirrors. I go by feel. Every training session will be recorded from this point on.
I'm going incorporate box squats. With a box below parallel.

I had a good time for 2 reasons. This is my thinking, i try and just bury every rep i do so i know im hittin depth.
@franchise24 glad you had a good time regardless of how it went, I'm sure next time around will be much different!
Definitely will nail next meet. This is my thinking, i try and just bury every rep i do so i know im hittin depth.

Did they still allow you to attempt your other lifts without them counting? I've read that sometimes even if you fail to complete a lift, they sometimes allow you to stay in the competition but just don't count your totals.Definitely will nail next meet.
