High blood pressure (critical level)

Many spine surgeries go well i find. Depends on the Dr. and if the surgery being done is actually right for the problem being had. Just because i disc has issues doesn't mean it is causing a problem and need fixing. I had spine surgery 11 years ago. Had a fusion, Laminectomy, Pedicle screws and rods implanted to take care of the Spondylolisthesis , grade 3 that i had. Along with collapsed discs and a few other issues. Was back home the next morning and back to work and the gym a week later. An MRI 4 years ago after car hit me at 60mph+ while sitting at a light showed every disc from S1-T12 was herniated or bulged but they give me no real issues. Down to machine squats using 3-4 plates. Staying as strong as you can and having a knowledgeable surgeon have a lot of benifits i find.

I get white coat syndrome…

Once they put the strap on to take my blood pressure it shoots through the roof. 150’s/90’s

But then when I get home and do it it’s back to normal….low 120’s/60s

That's a pretty big spike , calibrate ur bp machine, I just had to get a new 1 mine was running high compared to the drs an same cuff size.

I get nervous in there too they always gota check it 2 or 3 times and it goes down every time.

Wide pulse pressure. Have you had that looked into and heart workup...echo, ekg, etc?
I’ve gotten the ekg done before. I have a leaky heart valve. I asked the doc what that means and he said almost everyone has one … even Olympian athletes…

That’s the only problem I’m aware of..don’t normally go to the doctors… unless it’s really urgent… anytime I get bloodwork back there’s no concerns…

Only thing that seems semi concerning to me is a pulsing headache that happens anytime I exercise.. and if I don’t exercise it usually starts later in the day…

Directly in back of my head…

And some nose bleeds… but that’s probably cause of the dry winter weather …

A leaky valve? I was told there's 2 symptoms to my bicuspid valve.

1 is stenosis which makes it harder to pump blood
2 is regurgitating which would be a leaky valve

I was told both can lead to heart failure, I would get a second opinion on your valve brother.

Oh yeah it was the regurgitation one. The doc called it leaky heart valve though.

Said it’s quite common. After the holidays maybe I’ll get a second opinion.

I found that out in 2020. Haven’t gotten anything with the Valve checked since then

This is what he explained to me about it… never thought about it since… but maybe I’ll get another one to see if it got worse or something

If you were diagnosed with valve issue then you had an echo. You had an ekg as well?

Good plan. Stay on top of this and get regular surveillance. A yearly echo with same skilled tech is wise especially if you are abusing AAS.

Ekg
Echo
regular BP / RHR / HRV / HRR monitoring
Trig/hdl-c ratio
crp
HCT
etc

Take care

Must have been the echo then…

Whichever one tells you about the valves…

Also did the “stres test” on the treadmill. So maybe that one was the ekg ?

I never really abused to begin with…In recent years I’ve switched the way I use AAS.. haven’t went above 200mg in over a year…

You'll be hooked to an EKG during the stress test but the echocardiogram is basically an ultrasound to view your heart
Yeah that’s what I had done then…Both of them …Stress test everything was fine…Echo he said regurgitation thing… he must have saw my face when I said what the hell is that…cause he said I didn’t mean to scare you. Almost everyone has it….
I think like the thing I posted. The machines now a days for hearts are so advanced they can see even normal amount of leakage…I’ll still keep an eye on it …

Im sure everyone here would miss me if something happened with that leaky valve of mine…
