Hip Hop / Rap Thread

@strongsafety41 did you listen to this guy in high school? Ahhh to be young again haha

Redhead Kingpin & the F.B.I - Do The Right Thing …:

Nah bro, didn't really listen to them. Did watch do the right thing though. I wanted those J's and Rosie Perez! Lol. I'm sure I hurt myself rubbing one out to Rosie and those ice cubes.

Like you weren't bumping that shit. Lol

He was probably still in diapers man. Zzyz what seems gay to you is part of the hip hop foundation. Also helped hip hop go world wide. Gay or not ;)

Hate to say it, but zyzz is right. Ice Ice baby is not hip hop foundation. The only thing it did was got people of a certain complexion who may not have listened to rap before to hear it.

And Tupac is dope. But foundation? He didnt come out til the 90s. Shits been around since the late 70s, early 80s.

Here's some foundation. And maybe the best hip hop song ever. (It is in my opinion, and a lot of the best rappers have said so too)

Vanilla ice isn't a true Mc but his spot in 90's hip hop help put rap more main stream. Every era helps the foundation. If we are talking original foundation the first Dj was Kool Herc and first known Mc was Coke LA rock :)

COKE LA ROCK:

Gotta disagree on Tupac. Yes rap had been around long before him. Nwa & Ice T paved the way for gangster rap. But imo Tupac and biggie took it to the next level. Adding to the gangster rap foundation. Along with Nas JayZ Snoop and tons more. All play a part to the rap history.

I'm not going to say vanilla ice was some great mc or anything like that. I put that song in half goofing but the fact is when it came out it was a good song for the time and got a ton of play. Is that in my workout mix? No. This is a hip hop and rap thread and that was a chart topper whether you're old enough to remember it or not.
