Have any of you ever made your own bulking protein shakes?.. and if so what all ingredients did you use? I am tired of buying expensive 10lb jugs that don't last very long. I was just going to buy in bulk my own carbs, fats, calories, ect..ect.. to add to my favorite protein.

I’ve tried so so many different combinations of things, and tried MANY recipes i found here on meso.
The best way to go by far is some combination of;

Fairlife milk
Pasteurized egg whites(in the carton)
A scoop of your favorite flavored whey protein.

I like to add a half of banana and a squeeze of strawberry syrup for flavor.

ok those are some good ideas, gonna have to go shopping now.. should save a lot of money this way vs buy $60 jug that only has 10 or so serving

@jhb just think “calorie dense” foods. I mean yes it’s a “bulk” shake but no reason to throw ice cream bars in there and all that shit unless your a genetic freak. I mean yeah whatever I do occasionally haha but peanut butter, eggs, coconut oil all add a decent bit of calories to anything. Some people can just swallow anything but I prefer to have it actually taste decent as well so I opt to add granola and Pb most of the time if I’m out of eggs. Again there’s tons of granola out there that’s calorie dense, flavorful, and great macro wise as well for a “bulk”. Shit even using real food like sweet potatoes and cooked rice is a good move too. Don’t knock it til you try it. Whole milk I see a lot of guys use as well. Me personally I’m sensitive to lactose so that’s not really an option for me. I pay when I use ice cream on occasion. Lastly I like to add fruit. Which isn’t the greatest in terms of calories but from a health standpoint is a good move at any time of the day imo. Lots of berries, bananas, and apples. Adds good flavor, sweetness, and fiber.

Fairlife is lactose free and 13g of protein per cup.

I’ve seen a few people mention it and seen it in stores also but never picked it up to look. I’m gonna have to give it a go. Just regular or flavored? What ya recommend
I do the fat free. It’s not like regular skim milk that looks and tastes like white, murky water. This stuff is good. The chocolate is really rich and they decided for some stupid reason to sweeten it with acesulfame potassium. Walmart sells it cheaper than anywhere else, even when it’s on sale at other places.

Edit - but the chocolate is damn good. Tastes like a milkshake.

1 scoop protein powder, whole milk, 2-3 whole eggs, 1 cup of dry measure oats, 2-3 scoops peanut butter, hershey's chocolate syrup. You wouldn't even know it had eggs in there and it definitely helped get those overall daily cals up there.

oh yea, and occasionally a banana in there

I'm so old school, I'v always just drank milk. I looked the nutritional stats for Fairlife and they're very good, so I ran out and got some. The only downside being price. I heard the chocolate makes great shakes. Looking for receipes now.
I also just seen the fairlife at the grocery store. I’m also curious if anyone uses unsweetened almond milk for theirs?
