How do more busts not happen?

People into this stuff will be putting multiple orders for multiple years. Feds could easily tap into their devices and nail them at some point? I'm willing to bet most buyers don't know what pgp is

I guess the name of the game nowadays is keeping as low a profile as possible. There's no pablo escobar or el chapo in the 2020's who just keeps getting away from every bust attempt. The ones not getting caught just don't make as much noise

One does wonder, will gear busts increase as metadata tracking becomes more sophisticated? That's another genie out of a bottle, and one we've never had any past precedent for

I am fascinated to hear how you think this portion of the process would function?

How did the "Feds" ID these devices and their owners in the first place in your mind?

but what about the ease with which feds could make these PED busts?

Again, you clearly sound like someone who has never done any LEO or surveillance work.

How are you ID'ing your candidates for electronic warrants? How many man-hours, money, and resources need to go into even this first phase (tentative ID of possible suspects)?

Once you then have the initial list of magically obtained suspects, what steps will you then undertake to gather enough evidence to get a warrant for electronic surveillance of even one of the people on said list?

How many man-hours, money, and resources need to go into this second phase (gathering warrantable evidence)?

Once you have your warrants and have ID'd the "devices" how many man-hours, money, and resources need to go into this third phase (penetrating the device, monitoring the device, cataloging the evidence, and presenting the case to the US District Attorney for potential indictment by grand jury?

Are you seeing the pattern here?

Huge amounts of lift in terms of effort and money to go after cases no one gives a shit about and which will likely be plead down in almost all non-sales cases.

People who don't do this kind of work rarely have any idea the level of effort that goes into finding people to watch, getting permission to watch, getting warrants to search, and then trying to get a meaningful indictment.

Surveillance of any kind is a major resource task.
