How much meat vs shakes do you eat?

I just started blending my chicken,rice and spinach into a shake,,,works for me,,,also 10 soft boiled eggs blended with OJ in the AM is great.has to be warm though.bought a pack of those big fat straws,,lol

Lol what?? You actually blend all that whole food into a shake? How do you that?
 
I eat about 1kg of steak a day also 2 chicken breast , 1.5 lt of milk and about 10 egg whites also before sleep a Greek yogurt who contains 21 grams of protein . I don’t use whey at all I used to use it in the past.

What kind of steak? Ai looked at the one's with most protein but never got some just chicken and regular ground beef to keep things simple
 
I have my smoothie in the morning, which is egg whites, milk and whey based. Then lots of eggs/whites, ground turkey, chicken and tuna/salmon. I save steak for when I want a good tasting meal.
 
It's way more than you actually need. It's not enough to be dangerous but you might be better off lowering your protein intake somewhat and raising carbs and/or fats to compensate, especially if you're having trouble downing that much protein.

What's your goal? Cutting or bulking?

Arnold says 1 gram per pound, and Cutler (or was it Yates? ) says 1.5 grams per pound. 1 gram seems more realistic.
 
It really depends on so many things... if you are low carbs you use more protein for energy, so just add carbs. It depends on your training. If you have worked up to some 2 time a day 6 day a week training schedule maybe you need 1.5 or 2 grams of protein a day. I found when I was powerlifting and doing 5 3 or 1 sets of heavy stuff I needed more protein... 1.5 area. When I am doing high hypertrophy stuff carbs and a gram per pound of protein was much better. Another big thing is fiber imo. If I had enough natural fiber in my diet my gains were better... when I was just force feeding meat I was stagnant.

Everyone is different. I would cut the shakes down to one, keep everything the same and see if you still gain.

Raw egg whites with chocolate syrup was a game changer for me. Pound a quart of that instead of a shake and the bonus is you can murder people you don't like with your farts. Lethal.
 
The truth is food is food and protein is just of view of the things.

Eat healthy and the enough protein after your workout.

If i need extra food just simply buy a lil more salmon.

Raise carbs. People dont need 1.5 grams or protein per pound to grow or even maintain muscle, guys are using excessive protein as a filler to bridge the caloric gap caused by reducing carbs and/or fats. It's simply not necessary.

Protein does not build a body bigger than carbohydrates. Guys have it all wrong now, you could eat minimal protein and more carbs and you'll be bigger and stronger than a guy eating all protein and few carbs

It's thick and doesn't dissipate like normal farts either. It's more of a fog of deadly choking shit smell. It will sit in couch cushions and car seats so the next time they get sat in the smell comes out. It's horrible.

My ex wife used to walk into the room and gag. If she didn't leave the room she'd puke. My son is grown now and he still talks about the egg white gas. Good times.

Weird, I don't get that at all - but I blend my egg whites with protein powder, a banana, some salad and blueberries.

If I eat some "weird" protein bars when I'm out travelling (and don't have my preferred version) then there can be surprises - those sugar alcohols or insoluble fibers or whatever it is. Deadly!

Consider yourself lucky. I know so many guys that have the issue. Hotel rooms used by competitors before shows are never the same. Lol.

I’ve read it’s pretty common that many of us don’t have the ability to break down the egg protein from the white completely so the death gas is a product of that process.

Hilarious bump of old thread.

To contribute to the topic, I use shakes less and less often these days. Lots of red meats and chicken. Wish I had the ability to get more fresh seafood. I'm not landlocked but not exactly close to the ocean either, and all the farm raised China fish just makes me nervous to eat in large quantities.
 
I usually get all of my protein from sirloin steak and while eggs. I am drinking fairlife chocolate milk right now, mainly because it tastes fucking amazing and digests good.

I'll tell you what does create ferocious gas for me - if I eat a blend of peanuts and raisins..... Used to eat that back when I was a runner, but for some reason these days my stomach isn't having it so I've had to stop that, deadly gas
