The topic title is self explanatory.

I'm wondering how much t3 I can safely give my wife. And no we aren't going to "wait to do it naturally bruv" because it's already beach time, and she wants to look good now. She's counting calories and hitting the gym, and she needs to get this pregnant baby fat off ASAP.

I've been taking 50mcg of T3 since January; I was thinking that would be a decent dose for her, too, but any females willing to chime is, I would appreciate

Thanks.

lol.. in all seriousness though, start her off at 25mcg and see how she does for a week or two. her TDEE is definitely far lower than yours even if she trains hard so i think that would be an effective dose but of course, everyone's different.

Rather than counting calories and taking t3 why not dial in her diet exactly rather than just macros, train intensely, implement cardio and utilize substances such as clen, Yohimbine HCL, eca. This can yield significant results and likely far better results than simply throwing t3 at some macro counting and moderately intense training. Rather than risk damaging her thyroid.

Will she be taking anavar or anything?

From all the research I've read, damaging the thyroid is a myth. Yea, you can shut it down, but it bounces back rather quickly. I got clen so when I do get off later on, I'll take that to avoid getting fat while it recovers.

She doesn't have time to be a full blown fitness person; we have two kids and its taken this long to get her back in the gym because of it, so anything she does is good for now. She is eating well and training when she can, doing cardio as well.

I'm getting a ton of it, but I'm not sure I would put her on it, although I have a friend who did put his wife on var.

From what I understand, a normal thyroid produces around 25mcg a day, so it would be pointless to just replace her body's output. Her thyroid has always come back normal. She got fatter from the pregnancy with our second child.

well that's like saying 100mg of test is what a normal body produces. everyone responds differently. that being said, see how she responds to just hard training and a good diet.

well that was my first thought, but she is inevitably going to jump on it anyway, so I figured why not just get into it. Like I said, it's beach time and she wants to get in shape rather quickly.

it's better to hold off on it, that way when she hits a plateau she can add the t3 to break through it. if she's already on it and hits a plateau she will have no cards to play other than upping the dose and that is always something i try to avoid

If she isn’t taking aas expect her to lose lbm as quick as fat. She will most likely end up a bit smaller but still wanting to lose fat.

she definitely wont be on AAS. But why would it eat away at muscle? I feel this is just bro science; what mechanism does T3 allow it to not burn through fat and select which tissue to consume while in a deficit?

Muscle bone fat... it won’t discriminate what it goes after.

Here it’s definitely bro science... note the bro science website that study is from. But if you feel like that... do what makes you and her happy. Good luck and keep us posted.

I think the study was just posted above, but it is catabolic to muscle tissue at a higher rate thru the first 3 weeks I believe, and then levels off.

bone? never heard that one before, had to look it up. turns out it's quite the opposite.. t3 facilitates the formation of new bone cells

Too much thyroid hormone (i.e. thyroxine) in your body speeds the rate at which bone is lost. If this happens too fast the osteoblasts may not be able to replace the bone loss quickly enough.

perhaps it is all at risk because how fast the metabolism is going, and if you don't keep up with these turnover rates, then you lose whatever it is metabolizing, which is why being on gear will avoid this issue. So then, if my wife had a higher protein diet, eating much more than she needs, then I would logically conclude it should also reduce this issue.

I also have clen, which doesn't do any of this, but she doesn't want the sides. I'll tell her these potential issues, but it seems 50mcg a day would be ok for her IF she decides to do on with it. I also have some var coming in, and researching in the female section (where I should have posted this lol), it seems 5mg a day is enough, IF she wants to go that route lol.

This guy is right, everyone else just stop please. I have nothing to add, very wise words @Evom1 . People are underestimating thyroid medicines big time! I'm taking levothyroxine for years as I need it, under doc supervision and believe me it ain't fucking fun at all! I wish I had healthy thyroid, you people don't understand the value of your healthy thyroids. Don't fuck with it is my only advice.

I've read plenty of times that permanent thyroid shut down is a myth; even MPDP (Derek) took 50mcg for a year straight, and recovered his thyroid rather quickly.

If you'd like to see some first hand accounts, look at girls who have prepped with coaches like Shelby or Johnny and the thyroid complications they ran into after. Now no, not all of them ran into issues, but many royally fucked theirs and have spoken about it over the years.

The reason I mention those two is because it's well known they push thyroid meds during female preps.

Perhaps, but weren't these people advised to run like 100mcg of t3 and like 160 clen, along with their starvation diets, which certainly would do more damage than the drugs alone.
