Anyone use it? Or is it a bad idea because insurance might be able to pull the results. Might as well use my tax free money for bloods if I can.

He was asking if you can use an HSA to pay for cycle bloodwork. To me, I would just pay for such bloodwork out of my own pocket to keep it discreet. Is this serious
Exactly, and I am sure such things are audited, and these bloods the insurance companies might question any time so you might have to explain things if asked. That's why I think you should just pay for your cycle bloods out of your own pocket to protect yourself.Something tells me that using money from a government sponsored program to test how effective the controlled substance you ingested is working in your body would be a bad idea
That's why I asked. I can use it for pretty much any medical expense without technically reporting it though. The only way I'd need to report what I used it for is if I got audited. I wouldn't actually be going through insurance I'd just be reimbursing myself the cost- mostly I was just curious. It's really not worth the risk to save like 15 bucks on taxes lol.Something tells me that using money from a government sponsored program to test how effective the controlled substance you ingested is working in your body would be a bad idea
A routine blood test as part of a physical is one thing which is fine to pay out of your HSA, while bloods done for cycles is another animal and riskier. That's why I asked. An HSA is part employee part employer account. They match your contribution and that can be used for all medical expenses including blood work. It doesn't matter if a dr ordered it up or you did. Makes no differenceIsn't an HSA an employer sponsored plan? The only government involvement afaik is that they agree to not tax your money being put in there
Agreed, and being discreet don't hurt.I was thinking normally medical records are confidential but if you pay for a test through an HSA then the IRS would have the right and a reason to look at it if they wanted. It wouldn't be what it was used for that I would worry about but the results of the test I don't think you'd want govt. agents looking at.
I could be wrong about it though, maybe I'm just paranoid
Yes the IRS is supremely interested in some random dudes blood work. In fact they started up a new division to scour the earth and check random HSA purchased blood labs to find evidence if some one is using AAS.
