I would like to know what those of you who support trump will do when he loses the election?

I agree some will always try and get over. The problem is the government is causing the job loss and peoples financial issues with these lock downs.

My main point to the original post was simply that they're OK throwing money for no good reason to other countries but to give more to our own people they won't allow. I've been fortunate enough to work through this whole thing and I would prefer my taxes went to our people then other countries.

My opinion is end the lock downs and let people get back to work then we won't need these porked up bills.
Agree on your main point this bill is a smorgasbord of politicians goodies, and the reason I am not a democrat or a republican. Both are incompetent.

The problem with crypto is there is nothing backing it. The US backs the dollar. BTC can go to Zero in 5 minutes.

I love crypto for my purposes, but as a hedge, fuck no.
The dollar is fiat currency backed by the faith and credit of the national/federal government, that's it. 500px-Federal_Debt_Held_by_the_Public_1790-2013.png
I have no faith in that and why should the world (likely gonna be much higher since coronavirus)?

The Chinese economy will eventually surpass the United States’ by at least two-fold – which would up the ante between the nations’ massive militaries. “The foundation of war is economics,” Musk said. USA quickly losing global economic status to China, what will that do to the US dollar that's already taking out WAY MORE than they are producing but doesn't mean I'm going to back the Chinese Yuan.

Why is that good? Or you just want everyone to just lose everything?

Yang is basically a communist. Typical tech asshole. Get billions through capitalism, now wants to pull up the ladder so nobody else can get on. His stupidity and idiotic failed ideas won't affect him. He's already aboard.
Because I WANT the dollar to finally hyperinflate like the Soviets :)

So Trump and AOC, Bernie, and Pelosi all want to give away $2000 in free money to everyone. But house and senate GOP don't. Principles. Principles. What is a good Republican supposed to do?

Pelosi got what she always wanted. A conservative base to demand socialist policies. Conditioning tax payers to feel entitled to free money.

But its complicated eh? Alot of ppl really need help. The right did it to themselves. Democrats rejoice.

Another fine example of how govt breaks everything it touches. Wouldnt be here w/o unconstitutional shutdowns and govt mandated restrictions. Big govt over reaches and then throw money at it to fix a problem they created. Worshipping at that alter of unproven and constantly changing science. The mask is your communion and the vaccine is your bloody cross. He thou who believes in him shall have ever lasting life and relief from a disease that 98.6% of ppl are unaffected from to begin with. With the hope that 10 yrs from now you wont join a class action lawsuit for ill effects contracted from said vaccine. Ironically enough...from proven science. All hail big govt.

Conservatives have been demanding socialist policies for years. Expanding the military budget is a socialist policy in the most literal sense of the word. Militarizing the police is a socialist policy. Trade protectionism is, in a sense, a socialist policy because it helps to control the means of production.

There are lots of examples of socialist policies that are acceptable to conservatives. Conservative politicians are just very careful not to call them that.

Yes i understand. Its a collective effort for the greater good. Socialism in a nut shell. Police department, fire department, military, post office, social security. Yes, all fine examples of socialist policies. But the point of your comment is not to compare. It is to legitimize typical modern socialist policies like welfare, section 8 housing, govt run healthcare and safety net policies that reward the lazy and condition ppl to strip themselves of their inherent rugged individualism and become dependent on govt which is exactly what it breeds. That is the point of your post.

It was? I thought that my point was to show that conservatives have been advocating for socialist policies for years without acknowledging that they're doing so.

But what would I know? I just wrote the post.

Arguing against social welfare policies from a "rugged individualism" standpoint, or a fiscal standpoint is fine, but to argue that they're bad because they're socialist is silly when you support other socialist programs.

Merry christmas Bert. We do alot of back n forth but isnt personal. Hope you and your family are spending time together and doing well

I'm American but also a capitalist, I don't invest in socialism.
I much rather try to come up with better solutions than to let it get to the point where hyperinflation destroys everyone's life. We are pretty far down that road already, but would be better to change that before we can't turn back. Unfortunately, the current politicians on both sides are not going to help by passing monstrous bills like this. I still hope America can turn this around, rather than wish it all goes to hell.

The relief bill should have never been tied to an unrelated government spending bill as an omnibus in the first place. They're basically shoehorning a bunch of spending in and pushing questionable policy changes through by making it look like the vote is all about Covid relief.

It's disgraceful. The relief portion should have been an entirely separate and unrelated bill.
