If You Buy From Napsgear You’re a Legit Retarded

Lets not forget we are in the middle of a pandemic. Everything is out of norm.

Maybe traffic was up higher last year, when more people were home.

People are also getting tired of the internet in general. Facebook, YouTube, hours watched has been going down.

Instead of bitching you don't like how Millard runs the place, you should be thanking him. It takes some work keeping a place like this running, and I doubt one damn person ever thanks him for anything they like on here.

I’d buy that excuse if the ranking wasn’t a measure of traffic relative to the traffic of other websites.

But it is, so…

What are the chances of me catching a ban for constantly bumping this thread?
It's better for the reader and for search engines if you add relevant on-topic content each time you "bump" the thread. Search engines don't like threads full of empty posts.

How much do y'all think Naps is paying Millard for this shitshow?
No source has to pay anything at all to share third-party reviews, post original photos, or share product lab tests. This has always been allowed - at least for the last 10 years.

Enough to make it worth losing a bunch of quality contributors over. Meso’s web traffic has tanked since the mass bans. It must be enough dough to compensate for that.

Keep a spam thread filled with bogus template reviews going vs. keep people who actually contribute to the community? I hardly ever post over here anymore because of this nonsense.
Individuals who blatantly, repeatedly, and/or intentionally violate the forum rules, personally attack mods/admins, or otherwise seek to undermine the forum are NOT quality contributors.. MESO will never tolerate this nonsense. It will never be welcome on MESO.

You are correct in that Alexa measures traffic relative to other websites. It does not measure overall traffic - which hasn't really changed.

At any rate, I would gladly give up traffic generated by Individuals who blatantly, repeatedly, and/or intentionally violate the forum rules, personally attack mods/admins, or otherwise seek to undermine the website AND those who support their efforts to do so.

Unless it’s spam related to Napsgear advertising.

Let me ask you a question, Millard. Do you honestly believe that the posts in the Naps Gear thread are legitimate and not created by the Naps team? There are several incidents where there are details in one picture that EXACTLY match details in the pictures contained in a “separate” review. Same slippers, same oddly clipped fingernail, identical countertops etc. They’ve even started close-cropping their pictures to avoid the issue.

Do you truly believe that the reviews are legitimate and therefore do not qualify as spam? There are so many red flags in that thread that I could start a communist party and hand them out to everyone.

Or a chick with a lazy titty and long nipples

They are (a) all completely fake; (b) all incentivized reviews whose authors were paid between $5 and $30 credit for each one; (c) or some combination of a and b.

If you have evidence some or all of them are fake, then by all means share. This is highly encouraged. This is exactly what the forum is for. This has always been standard practice on MESO. Members evaluate the evidence and make there own decisions.

People have been posting evidence since that thread started. How much stronger evidence do you need than two pictures in two “different” reviews both having a guy with the exact same weird and very distinct nail clipping job and the exact same slippers?

If that’s a coincidence then I’d better go buy a lottery ticket. Anyone with any sense knows that’s not the case.

If you’re looking for “Test_Subject walks in the room as Naps is typing up a fake review” type proof, we both know that’s impossible.

Basically what I’m reading is “the thread is staying up, fake or not.”

That's really great. The forum works exactly as it is intended. The thread then serves as an exposé of these practices. Why are you seeking my approval?

I am not concerned about a source-related thread where each source post receives multiple negative/critical responses from members. I am more worried by source threads where each source post receives only positive/uncritical responses.

"I've done no research! I'll just attempt to overpay for gear with my credit card on the first site that pops up. They have good reviews on their webpage what could go wrong?" - Napsgear customer

I'm not saying anyone should get beat out of their money, but honestly most of the people in this category wouldn't know what to do their shit if it did show up.

Why are you seeking my approval?
I’m not…

I’m wondering why people were banned for spamming (whether rightfully so or not is irrelevant) when the entire thread itself is spam filled with OBVIOUS fake reviews. Spam is spam, and if spam is unacceptable in all cases, then the member posting it should be banned in all cases.

If spam is a bannable offence, why is @robertbrown allowed to do it with impunity? Why is @naps still around after threatening members multiple times?

You mention people who flagrantly break the rules and permabanning them because you don’t want them around, but then a guy who has threatened to send members hot packs and get them put in jail is still free to post after a slap on the wrist. That wasn’t even his first time threatening members…

The optics look REALLY bad when that person just so happens to be a forum sponsor.

Whether or not 3+ months was a sufficient length or time for a ban or whether a permanent ban should have been implemented are fair questions. I've always said this from the beginning.

I think you know how this subforum works since you've been here for several years and it's operated essentially the same for 10+ years. But for the benefit of those who are new, I'll elaborate a bit.

The goal of this subforum is to force sources to be accountable for their actions. This means accountability for all sources - good, bad, and everything in between. Ideally, every active source would be held to account especially the bad ones.

In order to do this, there are no restrictions on participation as long as they respect the forum rules and regulations. This is absolutely not a "source forum" where admins/mods choose who to allow or disallow or even where small groups of members choose who to allow or disallow. MESO does not screen sources at all for their participation or continued participation.

Since this is not a source forum but a harm reduction subforum that seeks to hold sources accountable, members are strongly encouraged to hold all sources to account for their accounts as an ongoing permanent record of the quality and level of their service and products. This means that there will be many sources that leave a lot to be desired.

This has been the way the Steroid Underground subforum has operated for over 10 years. It's not perfect but it was created as an alternative to the traditional source forums where admins/mods make the decisions for you by deciding which sources you should use.

Did @Test_Subject get banned from his last post from above?
No. Why would he? He's expressed his disagreement and asked fair questions.

It's really not that hard to do. It can easily be done without blatantly, repeatedly, and/or intentionally violating the forum rules, making childish insults, personally attacking mods/admins, or otherwise seeking to undermine the website.

I'm always happy to answer questions for those who want to work with me to make this website better. This is consistent with the harm reduction agenda. This is welcome on MESO.

OTOH, I can't work with people who see me as the enemy and seek to undermine and discredit this website. Their anti-MESO agenda drives them more than their desire to improve the website. This is not welcome on MESO.
