Is Adding Growth Hormone to Retatrutide a Good Idea?

Hi,

I’m looking for insights on whether adding GH to retatrutide could be beneficial for a 55 yo woman who has already lost 30 kg and still has another 30 kg to go. While weight loss is progressing, loose skin is becoming an issue.

Could GH help with lipolysis acceleration and skin tightening? If so, what would be the optimal dosing protocol in terms of units per day and the best time for administration?

I believe GHKU is better for that but ultimately loose skin might need to be removed through surgery. Considering the weightloss before, whats her current weight, overweight people tend to have really poor Glucose markers (Hba1c and Homa) in which adding GH could make it worse.

Good point! I actually added 2 mg of GHK-Cu daily for her since last week. However, I was thinking that even if she has mild insulin resistance, adding GH shouldn’t be an issue considering she’s on 8 mg of retatrutide, which should help counteract any glucose-related problems. What do you think?

Insulin Resistance makes it really difficult for the body to loose fat, i wouldn't make it worse by adding 4-5iu of GHs on top.
Would rather look at things like Metformin and Pioglitazone.

Fat loss in general improves insulin sensitivity. You might be thinking about GH in the context of weight maintenance or bulking.

I don't think this woman would be ramping up to 4-5 IU/d.

That amount of weight loss is gonna require surgical removal of the excess skin. A few IU of GH could be helpful there, too, in addition to assisting the rest of the fat loss.

Yes the reta will help.

No,

I wouldn’t recommend adding HGH with 30kg to lose tbh. Focus on increasing your daily activity with eg walking, chores, errands, etc... this will help boost your TDEE. Retatrutide should be enough for weight loss at this stage, and if hunger is an issue, consider switching to Semaglutide.

HGH isn’t a magic solution for burning fat. It won’t magically melt fat or tighten your skin after losing 60kg and with this much weight to lose, the side effects could be tough to handle (speaking from experience).

It wouldnt hurt and no she wouldnt be getting insulin resistance on a few Iu's while dieting but I personally probably wouldnt add it in just because the cost isnt worth what youll get from it. If she loses the weight and then can make lifestyle changes needed to maintain her health, then maybe adding in an iu or two from an "anti aging" perspective might be something to consider

Yeah, i think I will add her GH in terms of anti-aging like You say but after she will loose alle the kg's. But maybe You know any other methods besides GHK-Cu and resistance training that help tighten the skin during weight loss and minimize sagging?

They may help but a small amount but if she has any amount of loose skin then thats gonna need surgery especially if she already has loose skin with another 30kg to go
