Truth be told... I wasn't so sure about it at first, but sure enough it workedX2 on that one, ive done it a couple times no leakage or nothing ... works fine !
What are you fucking stupid?! Why in the hell would you even ask that!Plz don't kill me for asking, but does the .22 syringe filter have luer locks on both side? One for the 6CC syringe to attach to and one for the 18g needle. I've seen some 6CC without the locks
Glass vials need to be sterilized then rubber or silicone stoppers need to be sterilized.. Then the aluminum tops (with plastic seal) just put on and crimp (these don't actually come in contact with the oil)....after plastic is removed then user normally wipes rubber cap with alcohol swab.So you think the sterile caps are unnecessary?
Yeah I understand all that man. I didn't plan on crimping and sterilising my first brew. Just syringe filter straight to sterile vials.Glass vials need to be sterilized then rubber or silicone stoppers need to be sterilized.. I might be misunderstanding what these "caps for sterile vials" are.

Lol it's more of my OCD... I thought they were temporary caps you can put over top of the sterile vials. Not ones you crimp. Those look like they would go on the end of blood collection tubes to me and not the vials we use. That place has sterile vials you can filter into directly and it's fine if you don't have a top crimped on because your going to clean it with alcohol before you use it. What are you confused about?

Like I said earlier a "condom" for the vials so I'm not just storing a bunch of vials with no tops.
Or like @XmadXscientist stated it is easy (and cheap) to sterilize your own glassware I assume by alcohol bath and dry heat (oven).
Yeah I was looking into pressure cookers. For future brews I will pick up some shit like a magnetic stirrer/hotplate, crimpers, vacuum pump etc. Just trying to keep it simple for now.Pressure cooker. The alcohol and oven would only work at super high heat for long periods of time. Pressure cookers are like 75-100$ at farm and fleet.

Things to invest in once you have experience:
Bottle top filter w/ pump (eliminates the need for caulking gun and 60ml syringe)
Digital hot plate
Autoclave
Uncapped vials and crimper.
Magnetic stirrer (eliminates the need for a hot plate even though i like to filter oil warm)View attachment 69331
