JayMax - From Hernia Surgery to Greatness

Hello All,

I said I would do a hernia surgery log. Im going to incorporate that into this log and also my after surgery training to get back to where I was, and beyond.

If you want to, read these:

Jay Max Log (Switching from BB to PL and a place to BS)

JayMaximus's First Meet Log

A little background:

Around 1 July I started having really bad abdominal pain. It was difficult to eat, and I couldnt work out regularly. Went to the doctor and kept getting no answers. At the time I was running Sheiko Universal.

I ended up taking a week off and couldnt get back to it. So I started doing bro splits every other day.

Around 1 August after a multitude of tests I was found to have 3 hernias. One umblical, 2 epigestal. Set up surgery for 26 August.

On the the morning of the 26th I went in, got naked, and got hooked up to an IV. An hour later I was in surgery which took about an hour and a half. I came out sore as hell. The first day I was tired from anestesia. The second I was swollen, the third I was feeling better.

I have 2 weeks until my follow up with no activity. Then I can ramp it up a little depending on what they say. Should be 4 weeks until I can get back at it the way I want.

Before the hernia I was at 255. 2 weeks ago it was 240. Now Im sitting at a solid 235.

I'll be doing some bro splits on my ramp up phase, and then running Candito's 6 week program outlined here

http://www.canditotraininghq.com/free-strength-programs/

A Review of Jonnie Candito’s 6 Week Strength Program

As far as compounds, I'll be running 600mg Test E, 625mg Deca, 325 Tren E and 12.5mg superdrol for 1st 30 days. I'll also be using Fury DMZ pre-workout.

I wont be updating regularly, just keeping track of progress.

Truthfully, i dont know. I never got to talk to the surgeon after and my discharge papers didnt say. Im interested to find out on my follow up appt.

There's an old dude at my gym that was telling me about his awhile back. I'd never heard of it before. Some kind of wire mesh that keeps anything from poking out.

I usually skip follow ups, too expensive. I took my own stitches out when I had my gallbladder removed back in 2009.

Yeah. They say they can put it in across your whole abdomen so you never have any problems. Ive heard from a few nurses the mesh causes its own problems though. They usually use mesh for the bigger ones and just sew the smaller ones. Im thinking they did use it because they went in through the one incesion and did all of them instead of separate ones for each one.

Ive known a couple people to have hernia surgery. Not to be a downer but you may be restricted longer than you think.

Man thats a big ut they gsve you. Good luck in recovery.

Yeah. Im figuring it may be. Ill see next week. But I can hope for the best and dream. :D

Yes you can. I did and it happened. I went in for full reconstruction on shoulder. When i woke up wife smiled and said mri was wrong only 20% tear. Bone spurs still removed but my recovery was shortened by probably 6 months

Cool Scar Jay!
Jk that shit like looks painful man.
Are you taking pain meds?
They might not play well with SD.

I have had a hernia for over 6 years and it hasn't gotten any larger or smaller and it doesn't cause any pain. It's the size of a quarter it protrudes more when I'm bloated and it makes me self conscious.
I stay pretty lean and it has helped at keeping the size the same because I don't have a lot of adipose pushing on my organs/intestines.
My doctor has seen it and he recommend the mesh patch also.
He said is was a epi gastric hernia.
It's located about 5-6 inches up from yours. It's right in the spot where Bruce lee would punch your with two fingers and knock the wind out of you.
Not trying to jack your hernia thread.
I hope you get better soon!
Will be following your recovery log because this will prob be me one day.

Not jacking anything brother. I encourage people to make this a hernia (or anything else) thread. The only reason I got the surgery is because I had some intestine going through. Even though it was a small amount it had me nauseous all the time and I couldnt eat or workout.
As for the pain meds, I have some, but Ill be off soon and Im not starting the cycle until Im a full go. I may pin the deca and tren a little early, just to get it going though. Right now im still on a cruise dose until my check up.
