JayMax - From Hernia Surgery to Greatness

Saw my doc today. Healing is going good. He gave me the ok to do cardio. After I had him explain what cardio was to me, I declined. Got another check in tuesday morning and if it goes as planned he says I can ne back in the gym going light tuesday.

The word light means different things to different people...

That sounds promising. Hell even going in lite gives you a mental break.

Ive noticed not going to the gym has made me lazy at life in general. So Im ready to get back on it.

Yes it can. Im doing cardio, abs, legs and left side upper body right now. Im guessing ill be cleared for "lite" work on the right side at the 6 week mark

I'll see next week. They usually say 4 to 6 weeks after surgery until you can get back to where you were. Next week will be week 3 and if I get the blessing I plan on pushing it a little. Not full on powerlifting yet, but baby steps.
 
For better or worse, Im going to get back to it.

Ive been feeling better the last 3 days than I did the last 6 months. So I plan on starting slow today and doing a light arm day. Then Ill be using the cube program until I get back into shape. I severly underestimated my 1RMs so I wont injure myself. My plan for the next 10 weeks is run 3 day cube MWF and do arms Sat

I just found the site recently. Its pretty good. Brraks everything down real simple so slow people like me can understand. Some of these books get a little to technical for me at times.

I set it up for beyond 5/3/1 for a little while last winter. That got confusing quick lol. I had the first 5/3/1 book but I had to buy the beyond 5/3/1 to decipher the code.

Have you read the cube method book?

I follow Brandon Lilly on IG, he seems like a good dude.

Ive read a little of it. I have a bad habit of just reading the part of books I need at the time when it comes to training.
 
Did my first workout today. As I said I wont be updating workout by workout, just periodically. Used Fury DMZ pre-workout. I actually really liked it. Tasted like a jolly rancher. Got me crazy energized but not so much so that I felt jittery. Kind of felt like Test suspension.
To start off Im weighing in at 236.
Also it hurt to see, but here's my beginning photo. I feel skinny, looking to out on some good mass.
