Log - getting strong - Redo #3,482

Workout. Maybe something like this.
Only thing I will track sets, reps, or weight on are deadlifts. Everything else I will roll with however I'm feeling.
Sunday

DB Row
Cable Row
Face Pulls

Tuesday will be chest, shoulders, triceps. Pre exhaustion with a lot of hammer press and dumbbell work.

Wednesday
Squats 5x5
Seated Curls
Extensions
Lunges
RDL
An/Adductors

Friday
Deadlift 3x10 @315 or more
Pull ups
Reverse Grip Pulldown
Cable Row
Face Pulls

Saturday - catch up day. Whatever I feel I'm lacking in, I will work. Probably arms and rear delt most of the time.

Also my neighbor is super gung ho about crossfit and what not and starting tomorrow we are going to be doing some Tabata based midday cardio. Probably box shuttles, tire flips/throws, farmers carry with sandbags, some sledge hammer stuff, and I'll probably make my dogs come out and do something too. Work out some energy, since they've been intent on trying to murder everything that even dares to walk in the vicinity of 'their' domicile.
God forbid someone wants to take a walk past my front door.

When I was in the army we did a bunch of things like that. Throw sand bags. Push humvees. Rip chickens heads off with sticks.... You know, simple things

We did a lot of sandbag runs. Hated humvee pushes though. We'd have someone in the driver seat making sure we didnt smash two of em in to eachother and he'd always hit the brakes...I mean, I would always hit the brakes :(

I do a lot of up hill car/truck pushes at work, I bitch through out the whole process  I'm going to start thinking of it as training maybe I'll feel better about it.lol really gets the quads and my lungs stirred up.

Bitching is part of the process.
If you don't say "fuck this" or "I should've been a pog" at least 10 times, it's not challenging enough.

Yup. Filling ammo cans with sand and running up hill.
I remember there was this one SPC who was a huge bible thumper and would never, so one time when our weasel hit the brakes he yelled "let off the brakes you harlot" probably the funniest choice of words for the time. We all had a good laugh after our weasel made us lunge back down the hill and start all over again.

Made a typo on the workout. Friday is supposed to be Thursday.
Had a protein shake with greens at 6am. It's 930 now, eating 2 pieces of toast with 3 eggs, 2 slices American, and some bacon.

Alright so I did some guesstimating, and if I can add on 5lbs consistently each week, I should be able to get 600 by next August.
Pretty far out there, but I want to make sure my joints and tendons build up for it as well.

Man that's not far at all I'm pulling consistent 525-545 right now and I'm hoping that this time next year I'll pull 585. Progress is slow for advanced lifting and that's advanced numbers my man

495 is the most I've done this year. Did it once, definitely could have done 2.
Never done an actual strength phase workout though, so I'm hoping for the best.
I usually adapt pretty quickly. Hopefully I can pick power cleans back up by the end of the year too

Took me nineteen months to go from 500 to 600. I was natty the first fifteen of those months though. Probably would've been 1/2 to 1/3 the time if I'd jumped on right away. I think next August is a very realistic timeframe for you.

Goddamn my hand is not feeling too hot. My little man kicked it yesterday morning when I was changing him. Damn he is getting strong. Broke my wife's necklace last night when I picked him up. He had a death grip around that thing. Stronger grip than I have right now.

Picking up some liquid chalk stuff to help with the grip too, since my current gym doesn't allow for normal chalk.

Everything else feels pretty good though.

You're probably going to have to change gyms eventually, I can't see pulling 600 with liquid chalk. I've never used it myself, but everything I've heard or read says it sucks compared to real chalk.

I don't get these soft ass gyms that don't allow chalk or want you to gently set the weights down. Ridiculous.

I don't get it either. We switched to this gym because it's right next to our house and my wife liked it. We are moving over thanksgiving though... going to start buying my own stuff.

Save your money man liquid chalk sucks it makes your hands tacky and doesn't actually really help for gripping. Sneak some chalk in and apply it conservatively it's far better then the liquid chalk crap that I have
