I truly believe that by the time I'm 50 years old health insurance will all be government ran anyways. Right now it's in a very gray area because to the best of my knowledge it's still considered a privatized entity. Now, the government enforcing payment to something that is supposedly a privatized entity is where I started asking questions.

Surely there were kickbacks and government benefit from this. How and how much, we will probably never know.

I ask that because nobody has messed with me personally. It's really all a game, things such as crypto being more regulated and harsher prison sentences for drug dealers over murderers. It's all money, it's the government trying to "teach people lessons" for not paying taxes. It's setting an example so others are afraid to try to avoid it. But in the end, the only ones that I ever personally knew that got ahead financially were the people WHO BROKE RULES. Including the government itself. Which is really why it's all just one big, stupid game. The problem is, most ppl don't even know the rules. Including myself, hell I'm not some elitist or rich yet, hahaha.

Oh yes, for a colonoscopy I had this past May (that had no complications) my insurance was billed $9800...and lo and behold I didn't have to pay anything for it (expected to pay $400 copay).

But was dinged for $1381 for special tests over the past winter because my doc freaked out about my kidneys (I was on cycle at the time).

Seems doctors and hospitals are capricious about what they charge their patients (and their insurance cos).

Very efficient and economical @Burrr, I have several family members that use it.

Edit: Or so it sounds to hear them tell it. They all seem to really like it and speak highly of it. I’ve never looked into it, I only hear their side of it.

I met a guy on a vacation once who spoke about this. His daughter was a diabetic and he talked about how this insurance helped his family out a lot. It's basically a pool with several ppl who go in on it together and get a cheaper rate with affordable co-pays and deductibles. I thought it was nice to be able to see a family on a vacation together when otherwise they may not have been able to afford it

I'm sure you guys have heard about Dan the bodybuilder from Thailand. Right now he's in a hospital in Columbia.
Infected the shit out of his leg and now has necrosis. Spent $10,000 on the first surgery, trying to raise 30,000 the cover upcoming surgeries.
A lot of people think you should come back to the USA, personally I bet he's getting just as good a treatment down south and for a fraction of the cost. Is GoFundMe dollar will certainly go further

His dollar will certainly get him more drugs, booze and hookers than it would in the US. I find Dan the bodybuilder’s story highly suspect. He’s likely trying to take advantage of the extra sense of altruism people have this time of year.

Be glad you didn't need hemmerhoid surgery. The recovery from that was the most god awful pain I've ever experienced in my life!!! I might as well have just walked into the projects, bent over, and had 100 drunk gangbangers run a train on me!!!

I could have had Edward scissorhands fist me and it probably would have went easier than the recovery from hemmerhoid surgery!!! Fuck it was awful, a colonoscopy was a walk in the park compared to that hell

Ya I know what having hemmorhoids is like...had some flareups now and then. Oh yes it was hell!

But yes thankfully in my case it was just a small polyp found and tests showed it was benign. As I was put into a practical coma for the procedure I felt nothing. Got to go get it done again in 7 years.

I developed a serious fear of q-tips after my surgery. Every post op checkup began with a q-tip shoved into the wound to, "see how it's progressing". Other than that I mostly just stopped eating for 3 weeks, so I wouldn't have to take a shit.
