War for The Planet of The Apes was so fucking lousy compared to the first 2 movies it was astonishing.

Sorry man, the visuals are still fine but the writing and storyline were just awful.
I actually woke up the next morning with just an endless series of "WTF? Why was x doing Y? How the fuck did ABC even come to pass? None of any of that makes sense!?!? And why did the director suddenly forget how to film sign language?" (The apes routinely are signing behind people's/Ceasar's heads but everyone can see and understand the signs without looking at them anyway, the first 2 movies took great care to avoid that).
There is a major "military" component to the film that is easily more laughably unbelievable than the actual talking apes as well.
It was like a college film project with a huge effects budget.
Sad, I loved the first 2.

Saw Thor Ragnarok last night. It was a solid movie with a lot more humor sprinkled in and some great special effects and CGI. I won't give it the glowing praise some critics are giving it but I'll say it was worth the ticket price.
Watched Wheelman and Wind River.
The dude in Wheelman was in Warrior (don't know why everything starts with W lol). I think he really used to own a gym and trained people. He didn't start acting until late 40's? He's okay, the movie was meh, short that was good.
Wind River was good, not very long which is something I look for in a movie now, those long movies get on my nerves. Anyway watch it, its worth it.

So after 17 years I finally saw Training Day for the first time last night. Not surprised at all that Denzel Washington got an Academy award for it. Awesome movie.

Definitely one of my top favorites now. It's one of those movies I'll actually spend the money on to buy a hard copy rather than just torrent it. (jk feds I don't really do that, totally respect copyright laws)

Watched "Get Out" last night. I'd never heard of it or anything about it before yesterday. Pretty fucked up movie. Perfect title because all you want is for the dude to get the hell out and he just keeps staying even after it's obvious he's in danger.

This movie has one 15 minute or so scene that was one of the most tense Ive seen in a long time. Loved the whole thing, plus Michael Shannon is one of the most underrated actors working today.
