MLB

Has the city gone to sleep yet bickel? If I was a resident of Chicago & Cubs fans I would just be getting my second wind right now. lol

I am not up there right now, but all of my family and friends and peeps that are there say it has been nonstop since last night. I know I didn't go to sleep until about 5am and then had to be awake 2 hours later.

It still almost doesn't even seem real that the Cubs actually WON THE WORLD SERIES!!!!

Lots of fireworks, and presumably gunfire, and lots of partying. My hood died down about 2am enough for me to get to sleep. My ladyfriend lives a lot closer to Wrigley than me, and she said her a lot of her neighbors crowded int the street for a 1am block party, complete w fireworks until about 4am.

The gym was the most empty Ive seen it in a long time. Alot of people took half days at work, and even more are taking the day off for the parade tomorrow.

After a 108 year dry spell it's good to see the Cubs bring it home.

what's up with this shit? gtfoh lol
Well, Boras said that, he usually gets what he wants. General managers hate that fucker.
If he has another monster year someone will pay it. Stanton's is for $325 mill.
Maybe the Mets will pick it up and wreck them financially for the next ten years. I think he injured his shoulder last year, he was cheating in at right field, and his swing was fucking terrible after a real good start.
The Nats are saddled with Ryan Zimermans contract, he was paid for services rendered. They just gave huge contracts to Strasberg and Scherzer. I don't think they can afford Harper too. Looks like Sale might be coming short term.

We need a closer, just lost our rental!

Red Sox Acquire Chris Sale In Exchange For Yoan Moncada, Michael Kopech, Two Others

Fuck it, I love Sale but we are just wasting him on this shit heap we call a team. Looks like we got a decent prospect haul for him, go into full on rebuild mode.

As a Cubs fan who also roots for the White Sox (yes, it is possible:)), the Cubs winning the WS combined with them having done it by completely tearing it down and starting over with young guys, will turn out to be a blessing for the White Sox! I know most Sox fans hated seeing the Cubs win it all, but it will end up being a good thing for Sox fans.

Now, Sox fans are demanding that the Sox follow the example the Cubs set. And that is good. Because for too damned many years, the Sox have tried piecing the team together with other teams left over veterans. Which is almost always just good enough to finish 4 or 5 games under .500.

The Sox need to keep dealing their established players for young guys, prospects and draft picks. They got a lot for Sale, and can get a lot more for Quintana, Frazier, Melky, etc.

Im a Sox fan that will go to Wrigley w friends and always have a good time. I cant say I root for them, but Ill enjoy the game and will give high fives when they do well. And I aint mad, I just think "about fucking time" and we can finally stop hearing about goats and lovable losers. Its been nothing short of amazing what has happened since the Ricketts took over and brought Theo in.

And you are spot on, Ive been saying for years we need to tear it down and go in full rebuild mode. But the prob is we arent the Cubs and we dont play in an iconic, tourist destination that can sustain a few years of losing for the future. That stadium is going to be empty by mid June (even more so than it is). But we werent going anywhere trying to add expensive free agent pieces to a broken foundation.
Hopefully most of my southsider brethren can look at the northside and realize thats whats possible w a rebuild.

In another plus for the Sox, we just traded Eaton to the Nats for 3 or their top 6 prospects

Dude, I couldn't believe how much they got for Adam Eaton! Good for the Sox, nice trade! Now if Kenny Williams will just stay out of the way and let GM Rick Hahn keep doing his thing.

It should be exciting to see how much they can get for Quintana. They have the Astros and Dodgers and maybe others bidding against each other.

Apparently Hahn has been emboldened by the haul we got for Eaton cause teams are saying the asking price for Quintana is too high. Theyll prob be some deal for him soon enough though.

Hey, now's the time to be asking for more than ever, right? A lot of the other starting pitching options are off the market now (Sale, Rich Hill, etc) so the available options are even fewer to select from. Plus, they have some time to make it happen.

They also still have Frazier and Melky and Robertson to trade as well.

I think the Nationals gave up way too much to the Sox for Eaton, btw. That trade looks great for the southsiders!

Jays better open their wallet or we gonna lose 2 big bats!

I understand where you're coming from as a fan, but at the same time, it's kind of scary that EE will be 34 next month, and JOEY BATS is 36, and both want multiple years.

A decade to a decade and a half ago, mid-30's was the new mid-20's, but now with the reduction in PED use (not elimination, it will NEVER be eliminated) and the increase in positive pops on those PED tests, I fear signing sluggers in their mid-30's. Seems like a huge risk, but I suppose it comes down to available options, right?

The Jays have been a fun team to watch the last few years, hopefully they are able to maintain that level of excitement with their lineup!

Why do you always have to be the voice of reason !?!? Just let me be a disgruntled fan  ;)
