MLB

You are correct sir I am a BC boy . I like the M's too I'll drive down to watch them a couple times a season. Especially when the Jays are in Seattle :D

edit- BC does have alot of M's fans.. but all of Canada supports the Jays

Its nice they both are AL so you can get the Jays a few times per year.
I always wondered if peeps from BC were Mariners fans, or Manitoba were Twins fans, etc. Makes sense that Jays were the "national team" though.

Are you a Seahawks fan?

Yeah it's funny with the NFL. Alot my buddies that are originally from eastern Canada are die hard Bills fans lol. I do support the old Sea cocks. Was a season tix holder for almost a decade early 2000's. But my #1 is America's team Big D :D bring on the haters lol

What do you think of the Upton trade?

While I'm not huge on Upton, it was trade rape by the Jays lol
It's interesting I'll say that. A 12 year vet with great speed and loves stealing bases. He's due a nice chunk of change this and nxt season 15-16 million. So I'm guessing the Jays are betting on losing either Batista or Edwin nxt year.

He's due a big chunk of change, but the Padres are eating all but $5M of the $22M left owed in the contract.

I'm hoping they get rid of Jose, $150m is stupid money. Edwin can at least strike fear into pitchers still.
Michael Saunders is a FA after this year too, so Upton is great insurance.

Yisss...taken the 1st two from the Cubs. James Shields looked like James Shields of old.
If we can take tomorrow, we got Sale on the bump on thurs.

@bickel29 I'm watching the white soxs vs Cubs and had a thought. How does one from Chi town determine who they root for since both are from Chicago????? lol

Usually depends on what "side of the city" you consider yourself "from".

Those from the Northside of the city, as well as those from the North suburbs are majority Cub fans. Wrigley Field is located on the North side.
Northsiders are usually stereotyped as yuppies and elitists and rich folk. Many of the North suburbs are white collar, wealthy, affluent areas. Pretty much every Chicago celebrity and pro athlete lives north of the city. The area around Wrigley Field is known as Wrigleyville and is one big party!

Southsiders, and those from many western parts of the city (some pretty rough areas) are predominantly White Sox fans for the exact opposite reasons above. US Cellular Field is located in an area that many folks are not comfortable travelling to, especially at night. The area around the White Sox stadium holds very little to do, you basically leave after the game, unlike the all night party that IS Wrigleyville. The Southside is regarded as a tough, blue collar, very ethnic area. Damned good people in my opinion!
Hell, I married a hot, ethnic Southside girl!

On a side note, the girls on the Southside are way more attractive in my opinion! Northside girls are often your Becky types - high maintenance, thin, expensive purse buying, chardonnay sipping chicks. Think Gwyneth Paltrow or Taylor Swift.
Southside girls? Tough, curse word using, ethnic, big curves, beer drinking, freaks who may be the toughest person in their household, despite having a male spouse or brothers living there. A lot of European and Latina girls on the Southside.

Sorry for getting sidetracked, but in case you ever go there, you need to know where "your type of girl" can be found, right?!;)

Hope I answered your question, my man!

Now that's what I call a detailed reply:D Much respect! My brother's been to chi town a few times. He loves it seeing as he's a chef. Says Chicago has some of the best restaurants in the world. :)

Yeah, Chicago is a great city to visit, it's just tough to live there. The better areas to live in are expensive. The more affordable areas have high crime, horrible schools, etc.

It'll always be home to me (I go back to see my mom there every other month) but I don't think I'll ever live there again.

Word. Nice summation of the team loyalty. I grew up in Mckinley Park, so we could walk or ride our bikes to Comisky (and now the Cell). We could get bleacher tickets for dirt cheap.

Im about on the "get the fuck out of Chicago" train too. Im tired of paying an arm and a leg just to not have to live in a stabby part of town. Plus, fuck winter in the ass.
But on the other hand, there are so many times I just think how much the city has to offer, and dont want to leave...
