mountain dew post workout

Do you think that any type of carb is substantial post workout as long as it is high glycemic or simple? i.e. drinking soda or eating tcby ice cream after you work out with a protein shake.

Soda = high fructose corn syrup. HFCS is arguably one of the absolute worst food products ever developed. So, no, its not a good idea post workout.

Not that i would eat tcby after i work out, but it's fat free frozen yogurt. And why would honey and dextrose be fine and not hfcs? Why would caffeine be bad after training?

Because it's a different type of sugar... i believe dextrose is from corn........... HFCS is one of the worst things u can possible take..........SAY NO TO SODA..... u should not drink it at ANY time...............

3 guys on here already said NO to the soda...so just cut it out of your diet. I'm sure you already knew soda isn't the best thing to drink for your body anyways. If you want post-workout carbs, order dextrose or maltodextrin from www.trueprotein.com.

Honey probably isnt the best choice either, but its certainly better than HFCS.

u want the dextrose for an insulin spike post workout.....it fuels your body much faster.........i would still throw in some malto because i notice when i pop dextrose i crash from the insulin spike and get tried........... a slower acting carb stopped it from happening...........

i actually read an article with jay cutler saying that he drinks soda post workout. But me, i have drank soda maybe 2-3 times total post workout, i usually use carbo-hit which is maltodextrin.

Jay Cutler uses Cell-Tech every day post work out :). Anyways, soda is bad beyond the hfcs. A friend of mine is studying chemistry at school and he said science has proven that soda contains carbonic acid, which leaches the calcium from your bones and teeth. Hfcs is horrible for your body, though. It's something that should have never been invented. I look at hfcs and normal sugar like crack compared to a cocoa leaf.

but it tastes damn good doesn't it
:) I was never one to drink soda or much of any sugar but i like to treat myself every once in a while

I know jay cutler takes cell tech. I took it and put on 25lbs of pure muscle and my bench went up 70lbs! And with the soda, i just want to be like older guys in my gym back home that sit around the flat bench all day talking with 20 minute rest intervals, drink mountain dew & bench 400-500lbs. :D

this may be a better question

this may be a better version of the question, how about this, would it be better to have mountain dew as your postworkout carb or NO postworkout carb? like if i was leaving the gym without a dime on me and had a premade protein shake and my last resort for sugar was mountain dew, well then i'd rather dew the do then do nothing right? :D

I read this same article and thats what I was thinking about. I never really believe what body builders say in those magazines tho. Either it isn't even them who said it, what they really said was twisted, or they are joking to see how many stupid people actually believe it.

Cell-Tech had the same effect on me. ;)
I used Nitro-Tech daily for three weeks and my penis grew a half inch, which ineffect doubled my length!
