My friend just got 20 years for roids. I quit

This may be (read probably is) a dumb question, but what does the aggravated part of "aggravated possession of anabolic steroids with intent to sell" mean?

Funny o_O

So assault gets more serious when there is a weapon or something similar and bumped to aggravated assault. What would the difference between aggravated possession and just possession with intent to sell be? Is there a correlation between the two?

Wow, he got arrested on 9/4 and was sentenced to 20 years on 9/10. Talk about a speedy trial!

That's the essence of BRO BULLSHIT. It starts with AI "rebound" continues on to that unbanned PED called insulin, readily purchased OTC and now a "non-dealer" gets 20 years in prison. What a crock of shit and most AAS forums are full of it!

From a legal perspective "aggravated" denotes something made the circumstances surrounding an arrest more severe or serious in the eyes of THE PROSECUTOR. It's just one of MANY ways to trump charges against someone.

The possession of ANY weapon especially if that weapon was not obtained legally (such as a "trade" for AAS) or it's not registered etc. The discover of not only AAS but other controlled substances especially schedule II or recreational drugs.

As Millard already mentioned what someone is charged from the outset with may be entirely different once the discovery process begins.

Guys know this POLICE OFTEN LIE, and will inform one defendant they have X,Y or Z evidence when in fact what they really have is enough for a Class C misdemeanor.

My son was watching T-2 with me and police came to the door stating they had him ON VIDEO and a witness identified him driving WIFES CAR as the getaway vehicle on a "beer run".

WTF officer he is only 16 and doesn't even drive yet. Fact is we were watching T-2 and...... my wife's car isnt even hot, come check it yourself! He refused.

Well the "Sargent" wants to speak with him! Sorry that's NOT going to happen bc he is a minor and i'm not giving an allowance for that!

Well he will have to come with us. (As the officer stood 5-6 feet behind our locked steel gate that encircles our porched entryway)

Sure as I closed the HOUSE door, get a warrant for his apprehension with just cause.

They did not return! F...ing true story.

I discovered later they wanted to see if my son could identify some other "long haired hippy" in the video, the real perpetrator who was apprehended 1-2 weeks later.

Know this, from a legal perspective cops have every "right" to lie and are encouraged to do so, "to get their man"!

For this reason most attorneys will tell you just dont talk to them, bc if you do and if it's shown you lied YOUR credibility now becomes suspect which only creates another hurdle for your attorney to overcome!

Once my fucked up ex called the cops and said I had done something to her 6 yrs before while married to her....

so...I'm upstairs watching a porno. Kids at school...girlfriend at work. Cops knock.
I hit mute..throw on a robe and answer door....first mistake.

They asked my name and said they were here to arrest me, could they come in?
I said no. They told me they would position someone out front and in back and get me when I came out. So I said fine come in...second mistake.

I told them to wait at the front door while I changed. Since I allowed them in...they could not leave me unattended as I could destroy evidence.

So they followed me upstairs to watch me change and turn off the porno I was watching.

There are a few lessons you can take from that

do not open door to cops
do not allow in...tell them to get a warrant if they want.

Oh yea good point.

We ALL have skeletons in the closet, yep even me. But mine occured yesteryear BUT ....
Allowing a LEO into your home invites unwanted scrutiny. After all they did not arrive at your home to survey your neighborhood 2015 Super Bowl predictions.

To that end if any contraband is noted in "plain view" it MAY BE DEEMED prima facia evidence, negating the necessity of a warrant!

This type of a situation can then bc a slippery slope depending upon "what was observed" by the LEO. If a gun is noted in "plain view" the officer COULD believe he was in iminent danger and "search" the residence for anything else which may be a threat.

Granted what is found in situations of this nature are often NOT prima facia evidence of anyones guilt but that's NOT what any well studied cop will imply. Oh hell no he will state he's got you for illegal possession of a firearm (if that's the case and you better spill the beans about all those VIALS of AAS)

Yet really usually it's a ok to laugh in their face telling him or her, "oh crap that's UGL AAS sir and they never have detectable levels of anabolics according to Dr Jims MS or HPLC analyses! :)

another thing....with grow ops here (marijuana) the cops always seem to stumble on them while investigating some other reason.
they were investigating a report of a break in
they were investigating reports of an intruder
they were investigating reports of a possible fire
they were investigating reports of an unusual odor

and they "stumbled" onto the grow op

seems pretty convenient the amount of crimes they investigate that go nowhere but gives them reason to be on the scene to stumble onto something

Sounds like a trumped up charge. Doesn't even make sense really. We're talking about a CIII substance. Maybe it was because it was a ugl and not pharma. Like how coke is technically a CII because it does have legitmate medical uses and still is used in medicine. But possession of the street drug is generally seen as an illicit drug. So if it were a ugl I guess I could see how they could throw that in.

Aggravation
, in law, is "any circumstance attending the commission of a crime or tort which increases its guilt or enormity or adds to its injurious consequences, but which is above and beyond the essential constituents of the crime or tort itself."[1]

Aggravated assault, for example, is usually differentiated from simple assault by the offender's intent (e.g., to murder or to rape), the extent of injury to the victim, or the use of a deadly weapon. An aggravating circumstance is a kind of attendant circumstance and the opposite of an extenuating or mitigating circumstance, which decreases guilt.

The antonym of aggravation is mitigation. -wikipedia

This guy needed a better lawyer.

I'm sorry man but when I read shit like this it makes me cringe. I fucking hate cops. Sorry to anyone out there that may be an officer, but I just simply fucking hate you.....

Ah let's not be to prejudicial and allow the solid reputation of those good cops to be ruined by these bad apples.

Every profession has bad apples including Medicine!

Thanks for the explanation Dr Jim.

That story, while horrifying, isn't totally surprising. There was a dude who got shot several times getting into his car near my house and the detectives came around the next day. Knocked on the door and asked to come in. I wanted to say no because of their habitual dishonesty but let them in because of the circumstances. They were cool and didn't stay long but I could see things going the other way too.

I don't think this is your basic city level cops that F-d this guy. If you wanna hate someone hate the DEA. A lot of cops juice and from my experience aas are like the lowest priority on their list. They serve the public and keep the peace. I think your hatred is misguided. If I was a cop I'd juice. It would only allow me to perform my duties more effectively. Shit, Ronnie Coleman was a full time "cop" in Texas. How he pulled that off amazes me. How he got so big doesn't. Living in a state that shares a border with Mexico could have something to do with his rise to the top. But it's not the cops. They don't make the ridiculous laws. It seems to me that if the people disagree with a law, then they need fix it. IMO everything that is "bad" about aas, or any drug for that matter stems from the laws that makes them illegal and the notion that creating ridiculous penalties is going to stop people from providing something that people want. All that does is drive price up and quality down. I asked a retired cop if in his entire career he ever arrested anyone for aas. He said no not really, there was one incident where they busted a guy selling coke and some aas were found also. I don't think most cops are concerned about athletes using performance enhancing drugs. But the dea has created a situation where now these drugs are being produced in ugls with is a problem.
In the case report it mentions defense expert, so I'm guessing the guy didn't even have a lawyer, just a public pretender, I mean defender.

that has to be a typo..they cant hold an arraninment, evidence hearing, and get a lawyer to defend this guy in 6 days...he must have had a parole or probation hold....then agine ur dealing with eric holders justice....

Would it have anything to do with the amount they found
