While GSW unquestionably made the right gamble adding a top 2 player in the world, IMO they got worse as an overall team. The greatness of the Warriors was the sum of their total parts not because they were the most talented.
They basically improved areas that they were already great at. Scoring, transition attack, 3pt shooting. But got significantly worse at defense, rebounding and shot blocking.
Against the Cavs specifically, how are they going to protect the rim from LeBron and Kyrie? Who is going to compete with TT and Love on the boards?
The Spurs moves this off season have given their game plan away. They added Gasol and Lee to LaMarcus and Kawhi. They're gonna try to pound them inside and on the boards.
GSW is the early favorites but I don't think that they are going to roll through the playoffs and Finals or break the 73 wins record. They would burn out going for the record again

All they did was replace theyre lost big men from last year. Pau for Duncan. Lee for West (who is in GS).
If anything they got smaller. They brought in Bertans from overseas, a skinny 6'10 three point shooter. Livio Jean Charles, another overseas stash thats 6'9. Listed as a PF with the skills of a SF.
Theyre starting unit will play the same but when the bench comes in theyll play small. Losing Duncan is really going to hurt on D.
With all theyre new bodies theyre no different than GS with the turnover in personel, just less talent.

True but I think we can agree at TD's late stage of his career, he wasn't as effective as a scorer inside the way Gasol is. He also couldn't play as many minutes. &West is trash lol. See how he played last year with the Spurs.

Tim was definetely a liability at some points. I think thats why he retired. He was too proud to come back again like that. But he was still an effective defensive player. Just slowed down...a lot.
