Need opinions pre workout meals

So currently I eat about 45 min to 1 hour before working out and consume about 30grams of protein 10grams of fat and 50 grams of carbs (usually brown rice or oats) do you guys tend to eat more simple carbs before a workout or a mixture of the two ??
Also timing ... I hear a lot of people say 2 to 3 hours prior to eat but im fucking starving after 2 hours so training on an empty stomach for me would be awful i.e. No strength for my workouts
I just want some opinions from seasoned guys doing google searches just gives me shity info on the average joe workouts ... We ain't average anymore lol

I'm interested in what other people do too. I mostly grapple so I can't really eat for hours before or I feel sick on the stomach. But pre weight lifting I usually eat 5 scrambled eggs and a Gatorade for potassium but I'm not a monster by any means.

Eat at whatever time allows you the best performance. If training fasted is best for you then do that. If eating 1hr before training works better then do that.

I eat whatever I'm in the mood for to be perfectly honest. Some of my more frequent meals are 5Guys double or triple burger with fries, burrito, chicken and rice, etc

I usually have 8oz eggwhite omelet 2 slices of daves killer bread about 45-60 minutes before starting, thats pretty much my default breakfast every morning, and on my bigger training days i will have a poptart as well usually about 15 minutes before training.

Kind of staggers the energy levels so right about the time the energy from the egg sandwhich is wavering that poptart energy kicks in and gets me through the second half of the workout.

Haha I kinda do the same shit but with these Quaker oatmeal bars I'll put one in my pocket and eat it on the way to the gym that way I get a little boost mid way thru my workout. Like today I decided to up my carbs before did about 60 grams was able to workout for close to two hours of intense lifting many super sets and drop sets. I've seen that bread at Costco didn't know the gi of it so decided most breads r a no go but I get ezikel bread even tho it's expensive as shit

No carbs besides the sugar from the Gatorade ? Huh I've done a small amount of carbs a few times I wasn't able to lift more then 45 min but I had hella veins popping

Hell yeah same here, im in there atleast 2 hours lifting heavy so it helps to have that boost, shit...sometimes i have a snack midnworkout, little ostrich jerky sticks they sell in my gym that im in love with lol.

Yeah dude the daves killer bread is...well...it's fuckin killer lmao

The macros are pretty good.its like 22 carb 2 fat 5 protein per slice and the taste is second to none as far as pre packaged bread goes.

I havent tried the ezekiel bread although i keep meaning to.

I think most bb guys eat little things like that and never bother to add it to macros nor ever mention it when talking about diet lol glad it's not just me
Aren't there a bunch of different types of Daves ? I'm going to Costco tomorrow gonna try some now lol
Ezekiel bread is .... Eh different it's non flour bread and u have to keep it refrigerated or else it grows like green sprouts out of it lol I learned the first time not to leave it out but I usually toast it because it's kinda blah but gi is super low 36 I believe 15 grams of carb I think 1 gram of fat and 5 of protein

Haha oh well i still add it in to my macros, im actually pretty determined to lose the rest of my fat so i can get back to worrying about strength so im pretty anal about tracking every last calorie, so much that i measure and log everything right down to the condiments i use and such haha.

Yeah there are quite a few lf the daves, i am partial to this one myself 20161217_230650.jpg

It's actually the only one ive tried now that i think about it because im poor and i cant afford to buy something and end up not liking it lol.

Ok I've seen that one gonna buy it tomorrow lol shit dude in all honesty I cut about 4% of my body fat from just fcking carbs I completely stopped tracking my macros because when I tried doing the whole cutting macros shit I just got fat because it's too many carbs. Basically small amount in the am and then small amount before and a lot after workouts took about 6 weeks but basically 3-4 days of low carb below 140 grams then one medium day 220gr then one high (leg day) 500grams then repeat

The way my coach set up my diet was to go lower fats so i could keep my carbs a bit higher, i need the extra energy cuz i deadlift and squat 3 times a week and bench twice a week.

Kind of carb cycling too, higher carbs during my big lifting days, and then on lower intensity days i sont have as many and on my rest days sat/sunday are considerably lower.

This is a sample of how it is this week

Started off alot higher but we just cut a littlw more carbs when weight loss starts to stall.

It has worked well, been averaging about 2lb loss per week, while still managing to add weight to my main lifts every week.

Before when i was on my own i tried the low carb thing for a month or so and i was just goddamned miserable. I was losing weight but my strength was dropping even faster, no energy all lethargic and shit haha

All mine is witten on index cards lol somewhere fuck I have been using my phone lately. Agreed about the low carb feeling like shit I'm like two months in and it's awful no fuckin energy all day work sucks ass. Even caffein doesn't phase me if I'm low carb. I'm losing too much weight tho and strength is starting to diminish. So I'm going back to higher carbs just on the reg since I train 6 days a week so the one day I don't train will be a low carb day but all other days will be the same since I lift heavy everyday and train for long periods 1.5 to 2 hours I rest very little in between sets. Preparing some bulk before my next cycle in March I'm down to like 166 I don't want to be any lighter. When I started two months ago I was 183 so it's quite a bit of weight

Haha went and got that bread got it home and realized the fuckin expiration date is in two days lol I have to go fuckin return it now

I got 4 loafs of different kinds in the fridge. That stuffs not cheap. I've noticed that a lot of the new "organic" breads are on the bread shelf and not in the frozen food cabinets. It say's "no preservatives added" but the old brands of organics are still in the frozen food section. I wonder if the "big" food companies had the requirments to be labeled organic changed "AGAIN".

Definitely not cheap, usually like $5 a loaf haha.

Hmmm i never thought about that, this is probably the first organic bread ive ever bought generally i stay away from organic stuff as it is generally much more expensive and tastes about the same, but in this case it is worth the extra cash haha

At Costco it was 8$ for two loafs but I'm pissed it has a two day expitriation date...
