Im in the market for a new vehicle. Mine has some repairs that would cost almost the value of the vehicle, so it doesnt seem worth it. I want a truck or SUV because, well, Im a man. But price wise it doesnt seem feesible since I only have 1 kid, and I dont haul anything on a regular basis. If I can get a good price though....

Oh yeah. And so far in life, all my cars have been American made.

You Bro's and/or broettes have any ideas?

*Also did you know that Toyota's and Honda's are considered American made because theyre put together in American plants?

Consumer Reports Says That These Are The 10 Best Cars Made In America

This is what you should be driving, it's got everything! Style, suspension, roll cage (gotta keep that kid safe while hitting 60'gaps) 640hp cause ya know you have to get the supercharged version.

But actually if you are looking into a truck the GMC Sierra 1500 is pretty sweet my brothers got a new one of those, I have a new Tacoma and love it but I have a following for Tacomas so I'm willing to pay the extra especially cause the resale is unreal.

I've got a 2014 gmc Sierra. I have the all terrain package. It has amazing technology, back up cams, Bluetooth, back up sensor, collision sensor, hud, shows tire pressure, mpg, oil life, miles, trips, timer, a speed limiter you can set yourself awd, 2wd, or 4wd. Power windows, heated back window. Has an extremely comfortable and quiet ride. I've got almost 30k miles on it now and it's been great. No problems just regular maintaince. It cost a cool 49k. So it's a bit pricy

new shit is too much and a waste of money unless u have it . me i don't and I'm a mechanic .my choice of truck is used tahoe or yukon .since i fix cars for a living i don't want to fix my own shit . my yukon xl has 180,000 and i beat the balls out it .

Also power and heated seats, tons of cargo room in the cab, folding seats in the back. Just tons of room, and the center council is so big you can put folders, notebooks, and even a laptop in there!! Duel climate control... oh and on star, you can start your truck from anywhere with your phone for free!

Toyotas & hondas are about as american as 98 % of the shit they sell at walmart
Just cuz gm makes some stuff in canada doesnt make it canadian either
If you like it buy it
But dont call it "american"

Thats exactly what I said when I read the link. Im looking for American made. Shouldve specified American owned.

Yeah. Thats the problem. Im not trying to shell out almost 50k. Ill keep looking.

Funny you say that. The 2 I was looking at were the Tahoe and Yukon. But new, the base models are both going for 50k and used the prices weren't dropping until the miles got up there.

New vehicle prices are insane
Especially on trucks
Most decent equipped fullsize trucks go for 40k or more. Trucks are now luxury items
Meaning most people dont ever use them for their purpose. Pure flash
Which explains this disturbing trend of 2 wheel drive trucks jacked on mudders. W-T-F is that piece of garbage gonna do? Pretending at its finest

Do your self a favor. Buy USED from a quality NEW dealership. Get a 4x4. Anything american is solid as fuck. Considering we been doing this longer that is as true a statement as can be made. That oughta get you down to high $20,000 range. Let some other person pay the depreciation. That used truck will haul the same load as new.

If speed is your thing the f150 (best selling VEHICLE on the PLANET for 39 yrs straight) sells the ecoboost. Fastest mass production vehicle on the planet. Stock. Its a v6. This is fact.

If you want a real truck go Ram 2500 or F250. Solid axle front and rear. Chevy owners need not apply. Sorry GM aint made a real truck since the '80s.

Cant speak on toyota. Never owned one. But i like the hardware they put in the tundras. Big strong axles and borrowing alot of technology from ford including fully boxed frame rails.

My last suggestion...
Why not a jeep? Rubicon jk should be in order. Best stock off road vehicle on the planet. Made in Ohio. Straight axles front and rear. Stuffed with lockers and a winch stock. Removable top and still comes with a stick!

yeah they aint cheap.i can't afford newer models so i buy ones 5 to 8 years old .private owned. once there 8 to ten years old they aint worth shit so i just pay cash . i always wanted a new truck but paying 55k on a vehicle thats not worth anything 10 years later sounds like a bad investment .ill buy a 68 gto and put the rest into my house first! any way good luck w ur purchase

I don't disagree with you that the f150 is a nice truck but most sold vehicle on the planet is the Toyota Corolla... By a lot too. F150 is the most sold truck in North America but it doesn't even get world title status. No other countries really use 1/2tons or larger so it's actually the Toyota Tacoma and all its adjacent version I.e helix and tiger. But I'm splitting hairs.

Best bang for buck probably is a used f150 for trucks.

Tahoe and yukon are the highest regarded fullsize suv's on the planet
Completely unworth the $60k price tag tho
Too bad. Id love to buy up on one new. Last FOREVER

Spend 10k and get a used Ford f250 diesel. I pull trailers all the time no problem. 318,000 miles and runs everyday no questions. And it gets decent fuel mileage.

Used ford or chevy or dodge. Definitely biggest bang for your buck. Half ton market

Even when GM pulled a boner and made Sierra and Silverado in a back door attempt to over throw the mighty f150 it didnt best them. Bottom line? Ford survives almost entirely off their truck line up. And that speaks volumes about the quality. If they were shit nobody would keep them number one for 4 decades straight

I'm not a Ford guy, but the F-650 looks pretty sick. Go big or go home, right?

There's more ford trucks & cars overseas than any other vehicle. Ford has sold more trucks than most companies sell trucks and cars combined

Just saying
